6.4l terrible mpg
the MDS on the 6.4 2500 barely works due to power to weight ratio, I noticed this going from a 1500 5.7 MDS to a 2500 MDS. For me I noticed that 4 cyl. mode worked between 70-90 Km range not saying it didn't in other ranges but it is noticeable at that speed. I have the 410 gears so that might...- BlackGold6.4

There is different gear options for the G56 ... I want the 6.29 first gear and the 6.29 reverse gear which the thinking with the 4.10 gears and 35" tires is going to work just fine but that will be a future topic to address- BlackGold6.4

Don't tow very much but sometimes we do, mostly working in the bush getting wood, clearing trails, recovering vehicles off winter roads, carrying heavy loads.. then there's hunting, fishing, hiking and the list goes on. That's awesome advice @Wild one , good thing to know about the oil pumps. Sounds right about getting on the phone as I do have all that information you mentioned, just not financial ready to make that call yet. So studying and reading what others do is it. I know this post is a bit old but want to chime in... I have been doing a lot of research on this topic and I'm still undecided on what cam to get... but when this happens I will change the lifters with MDS plugs and also the oil pump will be changed too.
