Don't do it. It isn't worth the money and the BS. Legal issues, reliability issues, service issues, resale issues. Just don't. If the emissions system concerns you, sell it and get a gasser.- Choupique

Yep, u joint for the front driveshaft at the transfer case. Hard as hell to find. Once you do find it, mark it very clearly somehow. I painted a dot on mine.- Choupique

Availability seems to be better lately. The failures on my 2018 were the motor brushes, like most seem to be. Mind numbing that they haven't fixed this yet.- Choupique

Just to pipe in here, my volkswagen jetta has right at 1100 lbs of payload capacity. I thought that was hilarious. More than half of what my 3/4 ton diesel 30' long truck is rated for. Anybody wanna buy a '18 diesel? I need a one ton gasser.- Choupique

Mine pulls / hauls stuff regularly. It's a farm truck. I guess I just got some good ones and happened to get a truck that's aligned well. I thought mine were excellent. I didn't hit the wear bars until 65k miles. That's spectacular on a diesel 4x4 IMO.- Choupique

Get the factory size replacement tires. My 2018 clears V bar chains at full turn with the stock tires. It wouldn't take much more tire to tear some stuff up at full turn with a little articulation.- Choupique

Took a look inside my hemi
Just a regular block water heater will warm the lube oil up quite a bit. The oil cooler also acts like an oil heater up until the oil exceeds the coolant temp. I use the block heater on my cummins religiously, even when it's as hot as 80*F all night and I know I'll be towing the next day. Warm...- Choupique

Yikes, hate to see that. Good news is it's plenty salvageable and will be like brand new once yall get it back together. A buddy of mine has a 5.7 hemi with close to 300k on the original engine and tons of idle time. I'll have to ask what his oil change habits are next time I see him.- Choupique

Good luck bud. They are uncommon and grossly overpriced when they do hit the market. I'd personally rather just buy one with an auto and rebuild it if necessary. The 4 speeds aren't horrible expensive to rebuild, and the selection of trucks to pick from will be better. I say that as someone...- Choupique

That's the right way to do it. Towing at speed is a work problem. RPMs are not a bad thing and the delta in fuel economy will be negligible. More engine speed = less torque for the hp required. More air flow, more oil flow, more coolant flow, more fan speed. It's better for everything. More...- Choupique
