Had a Jeep 3.8 that would guzzle a quart every 1,000 miles. Would check every 1K miles and add a quart. Was a trouble free vehicle for 7 years until selling it.

I disagree. The snow ball is rolling down hill when it comes to emissions and safety features. Will party changes slow it down, sure but we are evolving/devolving… however you view it.

Porsche is interesting. Typically graded very high on reliability scores. I know no one who keeps them with high miles and usually a second vehicle. Curious who the people are rating them. Love to hear some high mileage stories.

(American) Car manufactures do NOT want you driving the same vehicle for 10 years plus. They want your money right now and later.
There is a conspiracy theory vehicles are built to a "point". Probably some truth to that.
