Why does EGT climb over 1,300 degrees?

I'll ask. I don't mean to be stupid, but how would he know? Should he look for it being in one particular place or another?

Why does EGT climb over 1,300 degrees?

Hello all! As many of you know, My wife and I travel to/from Mexico with our RV just about every fall. Great place to go, but that is for another conversation. We have made friends with some of the folks there. One of them purchased a truck in Puerto Vallarta. After purchase, he had his...

Tried adding Hot Shots. Now stuck with a hose sticking out of my fuel tank <sigh>

No joy. Since the stuck hose is fairly small and very flexible, I *can* stick a normal diesel hose in. But the trap door is stuck. I think that I must have jammed it when I tried to pull out the stuck hose. I guess it is hammering time. <sigh> I was hoping that there was some kind of a trick.

Tried adding Hot Shots. Now stuck with a hose sticking out of my fuel tank <sigh>

Whuff. That seems like an absolute crap-ton of work for something so dumb-assedly simple. And, yeah, getting down to 10 degrees, and I am in Austin, TX in an RV with my plumbing frozen solid. My workload is pretty full for this kind of self-induced foolishness. I added a picture to my...

Tried adding Hot Shots. Now stuck with a hose sticking out of my fuel tank <sigh>

I tried that without success. I added a picture. Is what you see the "trap door" you reference? I can easily get a screwdriver under it, but is seems very solidly stuck. Neither trying to swing it out of the way, nor tapping on that bump/extrusion did anything. I would have thought that it...

Tried adding Hot Shots. Now stuck with a hose sticking out of my fuel tank <sigh>

Can you describe the trap door mechanism? I have a picture of it from the top. I just attached it to my original post. I see what *appears* to be a trap door, but it is absolutely not budging. I tried tapping on it with a screwdriver and it seems completely solid. I also tried prying it...

Tried adding Hot Shots. Now stuck with a hose sticking out of my fuel tank <sigh>

< PICTURE ADDED / ATTACHED > First, happy holidays. Second I could use a little bit of help. Adding Hot Shots has me stuck. So I decided it would be a brilliant idea to add Hot Shots to my tank on a regular basis. Unfortunately, when pouring Hot Shots into my tank, it just overflows. In my...

Help - What the heck is *this*. Will this support my RV

Hey all! Last week I purchased a 2014 3500, cummins, Aisin, 4.10, 8' bed, and I'll be hauling a 24k DRV JX450 5th wheel with a 4k tongue weight. I have never owned something this large and I'll be picking up the 5th mid next month. The dealer didnt' tell me that the truck already had...

Expert needed - Should I buy this 3500 Diesel Dually to pull a 24k 5th wheel?

That is ridiculous. So, in order to not get arrested for being a ******, all the ladies are required to have their butts tattoo'd with "not a **********". You know, just to make it clear. I suspect that LEO was having a bad day.

Expert needed - Should I buy this 3500 Diesel Dually to pull a 24k 5th wheel?

Airbags - on the list of wants. Need to price 'em, and see how the truck handles as-is 5th hitch - Anderson hitch is my plan. They have a $3mill insurance, not a single bad owner-review Thanks! I'll post pics

Expert needed - Should I buy this 3500 Diesel Dually to pull a 24k 5th wheel?

I will find out what they have, though since the spec sheet says "Trailer Brake Control", so I am assuming that it is stock. Would that be sufficient? Do you have a recommendation for a trailer that long/heavy?

Expert needed - Should I buy this 3500 Diesel Dually to pull a 24k 5th wheel?

Thank you all for your responses, I appreciate them! To summarize, it looks like the truck will do the job with that drive train. The rig is 24k GVRW, and I *think* it is 20k dry (though maybe it is 18, I'll check). Someone mentioned Engine Brakes, and the truck includes it. Someone...

Expert needed - Should I buy this 3500 Diesel Dually to pull a 24k 5th wheel?

Thank you for the response! The DRV 5th wheel has a GVRW of 24,000. I think that it comes in at 20,000 dry. That give me 4,000 of leeway. Not as much as I'd like, but I can likely work with it.
