Anyone know what with "ANC" stands for? Not sure if I want to try the quad cab with ANC or just quad cab even though my truck is a Crew Cab I'm trying to resolve the excessive volume with notifications. 1f3fe8558d742f173807773ec9849dbc.jpg

I forgot I had already changed my cabin equalization curve to quad cab base a couple days ago so I switched it back to Crew Cab base hoping after it sat on quad cab for over a day my radio notification volume will be fixed but I'm not banking on it.

After 24 hours with the Cabin equalization curve set back to Crew Cab Base my 18' UAQ running on 22.6 is still reverting back to volume level 15 after lowering it [emoji3061][emoji35] I've even tried adjusting navigation volume in hopes that may help with no luck there either. I guess I'm stuck with loud notifications.

It appears it's set correctly [emoji2369]b36480b3976cf095a6b01b32b00a3a6d.jpg

I was looking at this yesterday on my 2015 QC with the UAS radio. The when I select the "ECUConfig 3-Cabin Equalization Curve" I do not get a drop down selection of different configurations, there is a box that says to "enter a value". My log shows it set to the "Quad Cab 6 Speaker Base (DS)" however. Not sure what I'm missing to be able to change and reselect the "Quad Cab 6 Speaker Base (DS)" to see if it will make a difference. I do have the same extremely loud notification volume issue.

There is one other thing that "might" be related to this to look at. I noticed when looking at the user EQ sliders on the radio (bass, mid, high selection on the audio gui) there appears to be a different EQ curve that takes over during notification playback. You can set it and see it by being on that screen while a notification plays. When the notification ends it will go back to the curve you selected.

On my radio that doesn't have the EQ issue, the curve is always flat during notification and resets to flat if you change anything. If you see something different here maybe it will point to the issue? Also maybe trying to change the curve here will break the loop it's stuck in? Worth a try I suppose...

Had a little scare today. I updated my UAS to 22.6. After the update was finished the screen had the update screen image/text burnt into the background for about 1/2 hour. It's all good now, but had me worried for a while.

Before I adjusted the sliders I got a picture of the eq settings all flat during a notification. I went ahead and adjusted the bass, mid, & high during the notification to see if that would 'break the cycle' or however you would word that and unfortunately I had no luck. Another thing I tried, I had replied with the word help when using the voice recognition and the radio talked for over a minute I lowered the volume to level 5 then pressed the VR button on the steering wheel again and it stuck at level 5 but the next time I press VR it was back to volume level 15. Every time I tried the same thing after that it never would stay at any volume just continues to revert back to 15. Guess I got it to "glitch" and act like it should once but that's it. Hopefully that all makes sense. 7ae271eaee845a05fcdeef55b08a734f.jpg

Unfortunately yeah, that makes perfect sense...well I'm out of tricks but I'll let you know if I come across something.

From what I have read, I may have missed or better yet forgotten some of the excellent info in this thread? I have a 2014 3500 CC 6.7 Tradesmen and will be, if all goes well Do the Ra4 upgrade? Donor truck 2015 1500 limited, I have all the seats, Door panel’s, Ra4 NA with bezel, radio harness that goes to the 7 speed fan control and to the resistor?
My question(s) do I have every thing I need to do the install correctly and when I turn the truck on all functions will work? Do I need the switch bar with seat switches and wire harness for a back up to operate seats if radio controls for seats do not come up on screen after install?
I want thank all who have researched and posted there findings/results on this upgrade for all to read and learn from, Big Thank You, Dave

You've got a lot of questions in one post but I will try to go over the basics. For the seats you will need the heated/vented seat heated wheel harness from Mike at M2mods in order for them to function correctly. You could possibly pull all of the wiring harness out of your donor truck and try to separate just the part for the heated/vented seats and heated wheel but it would be extremely time consuming and not worth the effort in my opinion. You can have mike add all of the wiring in the harness for the memory seat to function as well. I'm not sure if he offers the wiring for the inverter or not but you can make that work as well. You will need to enable all the correct codes in the BCM for all the options to work. The vented seats will Not work until you install the 8.4 radio. All of the controls will show up on the radio only after all the codes have been enabled. Your truck is a 3500 so you will need a different harness to do your 8.4 upgrade than the 1500 has. Again I reccomend going through mike at M2mods for this harness as well. It's much easier to install a pre made conversion harness that is clearly labeled than it is to try to fabricate your own from an existing harness. You can also make the rear heated seats work but you will need the center console with the rear heated seat buttons plus you will need a harness to connect it to the heated seat module. Check with @STecoD. He made his and possibly has parts left over to make you one. I reccomend also installing the correct switch panel. It's much more convenient to use than going in and out of the radio screen. The 8.4 radio bezel that the limited has will work in your truck but it has options that your truck doesn't such as Dual Zone and (ATC) Automatic Temperature Control. There are several ways you can go.
You can use that bezel and just have the ATC button and passenger side temp controls not work.

You can buy a Single Zone MTC 8.4 bezel that will have the actual options your truck has.

You can also convert your truck to single zone ATC by having Mike add it to your 8.4 conversion harness and you can even make your truck a true Dual Zone by installing a new HVAC box and adding the correct wiring. Mike at M2mods makes a harness for this as well but you will need to enable the proper codes in your BCM plus install the new HVAC box in order for it all to work.

I reccomend focusing on the 8.4 upgrade first and deciding what options you want like ATC ect you and getting it all installed before you tackle the seat conversion. This way you wont overwhelm yourself by doing it all at once. It's realy not that difficult and the harnesses Mike makes fit perfect and are clearly labled. You will also need the Alfa OBD app Scantool OBD Link MX connector before you start any of this so you can enable the codes in your BCM.

I'm sure you will have questions as you go. Just post them in the adding heated vented seats and heated wheel to an Express/Tradesman in the 4th gen DIY section or shoot me a PM.

Thank you Rick,
I have spoken with Mike, M2 Mods, we are on track with Ra4 HVAC module with harness & the seat harness? I will do the radio first, then jump into the front & rear seats. Have reached out to Berry for the switch panel I need for the truck? I will post my progress.

Nope, after a certain firmware level the 911 error stays with the pigtail (if I'm not mistaken).

No all you should need is the pigtail with the RA4 if your truck is a 13 to 17. If your truck is an 18 or 19 you will get the message when you install the RA4 even if you have the pigtail installed. If your truck is a 13 to 17 and you're still getting the message there could possibly be a problem with your pigtail or your connection.

I just got a VP4 with nav. It will work in truck even though it never had a Nav radio?
