Tiss a scratch right? haha Seriously, Farmers totaled it yesterday so I'll be in the market for another Ram. This 2015 Sport was a good truck really no issues. The TRX seems overpriced ha the Rebel is an option or do I wait for the RHO version? Decisions.

Still wondering why the airbags didn't deploy hmm.

Hmmm....looks like an easy fix...to a body shop guy. If the frame is 'tweaked', I doubt it's much, judging by the shape of the inner bumper structure. New header panel, front sheet metal & bits, and it should be a great runner.

Me and guys I used to know, used to buy vehicles just like that from ins companies and fix them in the body shop. Made good rebuilders and daily drivers. Might need a minor frame-pull (if even that!). Hopefully someone will buy it, fix it and put it back on the road.

Sorry for your loss....glad you weren't hurt. Sounds like you're on your way to finding the next exciting new project! :waytogo:

Worst case (in bad cases) ya stub on a front frame from a rear-totaled truck. I doubt the frame is even damaged by what I'm seeing there.
This was in California last week and Caliber Collision says by law they have to replace frame due to in their eyes some bent beam in front. The law being they can't straighten out must replace this is where I'm getting Farmer's said **** that total it. Waiting on total re-imbursement to go shopping and going to run back there to remove parts and replace with factory I still have.

Ouch. Hate to see that. My personal opinion, as worthless as it is, new or newer Rebel. Not a fan of the 2025s. But that's me being bitter about the demise of the Hemi
Me too

Boy, that sucks! And yet they let people drive around in junky old mini pickups with hay or junk piled 10' high in the back! Maybe someone from out of state with less strict laws will buy it and put it back on the road.

Again, glad you weren't hurt. Cheers!!

My old Sierra is pretty much the same scenario. Totaled on front end but otherwise clean so I bought it back, slowly rebuilt it and got it street legal last December. Need to get it painted but I have a reliable (so far) vehicle for only a couple thou. New front clip is a different color so now I need to get it painted so I don't look like a crackhead driving around town anymore.

Yeah...Nebraska...I bet the frame laws there are as follows: "...does truck have a frame?" Check! DMV guy: "Ok, you're good to go sir." :D

That's about how it is where we live...lol

Frame? I just float around on 1000lbs of rust. DMV couldn't care less as long as they get my $$$.

Yeah, Caliber/ABRA will only repair something IF there is a "repair procedure" that is from the manufacturer. I saw way too many repairable vehicles get totaled for that reason! Good example, late model Hyundai, hit something on the front suspension x member, tweaked the suspension x member mount on the frame rail. A good repair get a new frame rail, drill out the part needed and weld it in. Nope, (this was repaired) Pulled the motor, trans suspension, carpet and dash, welded in the complete rail. Could have been about a 5 day repair, turned into 4 weeks! PLUS, the corrosion protection was compromised! Once Caliper puts all of the mom & pop shops out, then look out for prices! They write (in my area) $48 for insurance, but $63 per hour on customer pay!

I have watched, day after day ...
Auctioned off vehicles being unloaded off of Car Haulers at the Mexican Border Xing in Calexico, California.
these vehicles have all been in accidents, after they are off loaded, they are driven across the Border & are taken to a repair facility in Mexicali, Mexico.
All the Border Patrol is concerned with is that the Driver & Vehicle have the proper paperwork.

If the vehicle can not be driven across the border, it has to be hauled across & the paperwork is more complicated.

I often have wondered, if a damaged vehicle is driven across the Mexican Border & gets repaired, can they drive that vehicle back into the USA & be sold again at Auction ?

The Images in post #1 would be easily driven across the Border
The bumper would be tied in place & the hood would be either flattened down or put in the Bed

Assuming it was previously titled and registered in the US and they have the needed proof of that: In general, yes. There are some hoops to jump through, like inspection for intact and functioning emissions equipment so it's not quite as simple as just driving it back over, but it's doable for most vehicles in most cases.

My 2014 Ram airbags didn't deploy either in an accident that left it looking like this:

Between totaling my sierra in a front end wreck, hitting a snow bank in my Ram at 30 mph that turned out to be a wall of packed ice, and a car that we jumped several times and ran over several trees, I'm convinced that air bags are a myth and that in any major collision I will just suddenly identify as an airplane.

My Subaru's air bags have a censor in the seat to activate them in a collision.

I agree with others that the damage doesn't look like a total, but based on the year the repair price might exceed the current book value.

Today, i went to my Skin Doctor, he removed some bumps

Right next door there is a Body Shop & Repair Shop.

They had what appeared to be a Ford 1 ton or 1 1/2 ton Crew Cab it was suspended about 7 foot above the ground on a big hoist
A flat bed with equipment on the flatbed, it was close by

A complete frame was on tires below it.

Some distance from that, there was another frame with tires.
I made a guess & i think that they were switching Frames
