Have a 2022 Power Wagon and looking to replace brakes both front and rear…. Was curious to see what people are running and possibly get some recommendations. Also looking for best OEM source for a few other things if anyone wouldn’t mind sharing. Anyting would be greatly appreciated.

Performance brakes tend to be more noisy, not as smooth and wear quicker. If performance is the goal then you will have to keep those things in mind. If you don't care about that, then just do OEM or equivalent (most things you can find aftermarket cheaper than OEM but with similar performance).

Soo.. what is your goal?

Appreciate that. Don’t have a need for performance upgrades so looking for a decent own or equivalent kit like you mentioned. Preferably OEM if you know of any kits or a OEM manufacturer that people use?

This is the site I use for OEM, just make sure to put in your vehicle info, those in the link are for my truck.

However, last time I did pads I just got the cheapos from autozone for substantially cheaper as I wasn't too worried about quality issues. Up to you with what you are comfortable with.

Maybe someone else can give a better suggestion as far as other aftermarket brands if the OEMs are more than you want to spend.

I tow moderate every summer I tow a TT about 6,000 LBS roughly every other weekend about 70 to 80 miles .
So I went to a set of slotted and cross drilled with ceramic pads .
Brake them in properly as manufacture instructions ! they are the best brakes i have used so far ! stays very firm pedal all the time ! I used

Max Advanced Brakes Elite XDS Rear Cross-Drill & Slots Rotors with Ceramic Brake Pads KT020882-5

From Amazon

you can get just fronts or rears or as a complete kit with all 4 corners! the only thing you will need is the parking brake shoes and spring kit !

I've used PowerStop pads and rotors on all my vehicles for years. Even just swapping to the pads with OEM rotors makes a huge difference. Much better braking performance and a lot less brake dust. They last just as long as well.

brake related question: when jacking up the truck, if you have the air suspension, do you disable it?

I've been looking at brakes too...power stop seems to be a good choice, but i'm not sure about the slotted rotors. are they just for heat dissipation? How do their rotors hold up?

pad types? ceramic? semi-metallic?

I have a 1500 and got 76k miles out of the original front pads. While you have a HD truck wear may be different. I personally went with Wagner e-coated rotors and the OEx pads. It’s more of a daily driver setup although the pads are supposedly heavy duty. You can get the pad/rotor Wagner kits on Rock Auto for a very good discount. They are a very good quality product for everyday use.

I put the R1 Concept GeoMet slotted and drilled rotors with ceramic pads. Truck stops way better and with the GeoMet coating the rotors never have surface rust on them.

For street driven vehicles the slotted/drilled rotors are for looks. If your putting that much heat into your brakes there's either a problem with the brakes or you're using way too much brake to stop the vehicle.
If you plan on taking the truck to the track, you might see some benefits but a lot of race vehicles don't even use slotted/drilled rotors.

PowerStop!!!!!! - they also come with new rubber slider pin boots and caliper slider clips in their complete kit offerings!

Add a brake flush & fill with either Motul or StopTech DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake fluid!!!!!!!!!!!

Ensure you also follow the bedding/seasoning recommendations from the OEM of the kit, too!
This is super important to ensure the proper braking prowess of your new brakes.

Permatex 24125 is the best lubricant you can use, DOT 3 is also the best if you don't plan on bleeding brakes all the time as it doesn't absorb moisture as much as DOT4 and DOT5.1.

Raybestos Element3 work wonders if you are in a high moisture environment, going on a year strong with absolutely no rust on the rotors living through a Michigan winter.
