    Synthetic Oil

I had the video pulled up this morning, but didn't have time to watch it. After seeing these comments, I went to the youtube page I still had open with the video. As soon as the page refreshed, private video came up.

    3.6L Radiator Fan Problem?

What I've noticed on my 3.6, is that turning on the A/C doesn't automatically start the fan. After the a/c runs a short time, the line pressure will build up and the fan will slowly start, climb in speed, slow down, then stop until pressure rises. This is on cooler days. On quite warm days...

    Truck pulling to the left

If you haven't yet, rotate the front tires to the rear. The caster, camber, and toe, were out a decent amount on the right. With the tire worn, that could be your pull. I have a slight left pull that's annoying on my 2018. I've had the camber set right, and even have more caster in the left...

Sears (Craftsman) almost always had Tecumseh engines on them. Tecumseh usually had more power than Briggs, much harder to start, and on 8 HP and up, were prone to throwing rods.

    Synthetic Oil

I changed the oil in my wife's Ford Edge yesterday. It has a V-6, 3.5 engine. I put PUP 5w30 like I use in my truck 3.6, except for no Lubegard. I noticed this warm morning that the engine is louder with this oil over the Castrol I had in it. My truck is a little louder than I like in the...

    Synthetic Oil

My Kawasaki 23.5 HP engine calls for 100 hour oil changes. I meant to do the first one around 50, but it got away from me, and ended up being 100 hours anyway. Did the complete again this year at 200 total hours. Oil, oil filter, air filter and foam pre-filter, fuel filter, and new OEM NGK...

    Adventures in MDS Delete

Maybe a collapsed lifter from it running without oil? Try to get it to run a while and see if it straightens out.

Pennzoil and Quaker State ruined themselves with their sludge making oil years ago. IMHO, they have not distanced themselves enough from those times with their marketing, IE, "This isn't your grampaw's/dad's oil. It's completely new technology from top to bottom". Or something to the like...

Please help! Front end damage frame bent

Good luck finding anything for 2k that runs these days. I had a pole knocked down on my car by a truck a few years ago. The insurance payout wouldn't get me anything close to as good a car as I had. After two plus years of searching, and driving my old Dodge truck, that's how I ended up with...

    Synthetic Oil

Back during "the great recession", I had a used car lot. Decent used cars were non-existent because of the "Cash for Clunkers" deal, which ruined independent car lots. I started selling mopeds because of high gas prices. They were selling as fast as I could get them put together. The engines...

Please help! Front end damage frame bent

No matter how good your truck is, you might get 3 to 4k from an insurance company. That's an 8 to 10k repair at a cheap body shop, without a paint job, if anyone will even straighten the most likely diamonded and bent frame. I doubt anyone that runs a legit body shop would cut off and...

    Synthetic Oil

From my owners manual: "We recommend you use API Certified SAE 5W-20 Engine Oil, meeting the requirements of FCA Material Standard MS-6395 ..........." Valvoline restore and protect is certified for MS-6395 in 5w20 and 5w30. After I use up the PUP with my next oil change, I may have to try...

$70k Truck Falling Apart at 38k Miles

I owned an independent auto dealership here in NC. It's a requirement to fill out a dealer demonstration permit before any test drive of a dealer vehicle, especially if the salesperson is not with the customer. It's time consuming to fill this out, and many dealers don't do it. But, if you...

    Synthetic Oil

From an online article. I remember this well. And another good article about all the NASCAR drivers to attempt a double duty. 20 Years Later, Tony Stewart's Improbable Indy 500, Coca-Cola 600 Record Still Stands...

I don't live all that far from the N. Wilkesboro track. My son called me wanting me to go there with him today. I had to turn him down. I'm still boycotting NASCAR after being a fan for 45+ years.

    0-40 PUP Oil

In the 70's through the 2000's I felt the same way. I wouldn't use Pennzoil to start a fire with. But, the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is some really good oil. I was very pleasantly surprised at the UOA from my truck with PUP 5w30.

    Synthetic Oil

The main cause for one lifter ticking, is when that lifter is prone to leak down, and the engine just happens to stop in a position where that particular lifter has a valve depressed, and leaks down. Ticking can occur for several seconds to several minutes in that case. If yours is lots of...

    Oil Filter Thread

Those TP filters were bypass filters, simular to those on the big trucks. There used to be big canisters on big trucks that bled off a small amount of oil to finely filter. Luberfiner was a major name in those days. The TP filters, in conjunction to the main oil filter, actually did work...

    Synthetic Oil

Way back, my uncle had a '59 Ford car. He always took his car to the gas station/garage a few blocks from his house for oil changes, ect. He told his son to get 5 quarts of oil from the building and put them in his car. His son came back in after a few minutes, and said "I can't get but 4...

    Blackstone - used oil analysis

I was thinking the small amount of copper in my report may be from LubeGard, but according to a post on BITOG, it's not. From a post on BIGOT: This is from 2012, so it may have changed..... LubeGard VOA: Aluminum / 0 Chromium / 0 Iron / 0 Copper / 0 Lead / 0 Tin / 0 Molybdenum / 1891 Nickel...

    Etorque not shutting down

On the bright side, you don't have to worry about it starting back up at stoplights. I don't have one with start/stop, but if I did, I would hope it stays not working.

Three Camshaft replacements within a year

One and done? I hope not. Would like to hear more. It sounds like the dealer is just changing cams without digging to find out why they are suddenly going out after 52k miles. That research takes time you know. Can't let it dig into the overall pay. That is where flat rate hurts the consumer.
