    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely keeping her! I forgot I hadn't put an update on here... turns out my dad apparently used Sta-bil in the tank, so the diesel in there was still good to go. Everything looked good on it. So far I've replaced all 4 shocks, all 4 brakes/rotors, in addition to the...

What is this that punctured the rear of my radiator?

I noticed this afternoon my truck had some fluid leaking. Further investigation revealed some type of wiring or something had punctured the radiator from the backside. I felt it and it feels like some type of metal or hard bracket that the wiring is attached to. Seems to be connected to a...

    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

Little update... Had it towed to my mechanic today. Gonna have the fuel tank dropped and make sure there's no diesel "goo" that'll damage the injectors. Also changing every fluid and filter and new tires. When I get the thumbs up that it's GTG and road worthy, this'll become my new daily...

    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

When I went to the tax office to switch the registration, the title indicated he bought it in 2005 and it had 37k miles on it. 1 year, 37k miles. Then he drove it for 13 years and got it to 117k. Then it sat dormant for the last 6 years. I plan on keeping it and probably pass it on to one of my...

    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

Thanks so much! Yessir, replacing every fluid and every filter it has. I'm actually gonna have it towed to my mechanic and he's gonna drop the fuel tank and check for any sludge; he's also gonna check all the rubber stuff on the suspension, etc. And of course getting new tires as well since the...

    New to the club

When my dad died, my mom left his truck just sitting under the carport for 6 years, not being used. She finally signed it over to me and last weekend I went to get it. I'm gonna replace EVERY fluid in it (oil, transmission, coolant, brake, power steering, differential) and put new tires on it...

    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

For sure.. I didn't mention that, but all 4 need replaced. The front 2 have lots of tread but the DOT date code indicates they're 7 years old.

    I inherited my dad's 2004 5.9L Cummins

Hi everybody.. I'm new here. My dad passed away 6 years ago and I just found out I inherited his 2004 Ram 2500 HD with 5.9 Cummins. Forgive the lengthy post... It's been sitting under an open carport for the last 6 years and apparently only started and driven a couple of times (early on). So...
