I am wondering if it could be the aftermarket vvt solenoid I put in when I did cam and lifters . I don’t remember if it did it before that I never cared then haha
It’s consistent like a heart beat driving 40 mph down the road . Bounces up and down up and down .
I have seen other people have the issue. No one can seem to figure it out.
Anyone ever find the fix to this. Driving down the road my rpm’s will
Surged like a heartbeat couple hundred rpms
Consistently .
Did we narrow it down to a bad torque converter ?
No cel
Especially after replacing the cam and lifters I hear every little sound . That’s why this tick concerns me. Though it does go away when warm. Hopefully it’s nothing or an exhaust leak
I do use redline 5 30. Though I’m not sure I trust cutting filters open for a bit. As I’m sure there could possible be contaminant circulating from the previous failed lifter and cam. I would assume for a few oil changes at least
Wondering if I just need to retorque my manifold bolts now...
3000 miles on the motor since replacing the cam and lifter.
Just noticed this slight tap walking up to the car ..
Sound normal?
Pretty sure it’s not there at operating temp after driving it down the block

Under half a tank my sender don’t work
And get a check engine light so need to replace the unit.
Anyone have luck with any of the after market brands?
What do you recommend
yeah i wasnt lookng to spend the 2500... i just rebuilt the top half of motor was lookng to save some money. i see summit sells a VEGE rack for 1200 i might try... or just get a used rack out of a junk car.
So the steering rack is grinding horribly when turning left. really grinding... a new rack is 2500.. i dont feel like paying that
i am find it impossible to find a remanufactured one.
Question has anyone rebuilt these? do they make kits to rebuild them? i cant find much info on it. that i...
unlesss your going to pump them up under the oil its soaking in by hand, soaking them is a waste of time.. you can put some assembly lube on the roller if it makes you feel better but the cam already should be covered in assembly lube.
you can also pressurize the oil port with a garden sprayer...
engine are made to wear. there will always be some form of metal in the oil no matter what i feel. this is alot of work as a preemtive. but my hats off to you for taking it on.
those codes unrelated i know why i had those its from changing the fluid with the rear jacked up ..
but still chasing this rpm surge while driving gremlin
Hooked up monitor and wheel
Speed reading on both fronts no issue and Speedo is working . Maybe they have been stored in there for a bit who knows. I cleared them
Will see if they return
