I did a quick search and only found one thread and it was for 4th gen, The third gen I found on Youtube .

Pretty easy and straight forward. Need a 10mm, extension ( deep socket, outer lower is a nut with a long threaded stud), light source, I used a electric drill/impact and a plastic tool to pop the outer upper retainer loose, its a ball on a stud mounted in a plastic retainer. Easy. I bought new assemblies as the OEM just wouldn't stay clear. $100.
lower outer is behind the rubber plug in the wheel well.
