How does lowering the 4th gen effect towing ability??

With the coils in the back the 4th gen sags a good bit. I will be pulling a 71 challenger with my truck some this coming year. I am guessing the airbags would be REQUIRED if I were to level the truck.

Also, for me the 2 - 4 drop is lower than I would like. I take it that just a 2" drop in the rear levels it out pretty good.

Think you can buy the 2" drop springs for the back through McGaughy's and Ground Force. Shouldn't have a problem towing with a set of those 1000 lb air bags. That's what I'm planning on using.

I was going to do the 2" drop springs from ground force. Called around and every vendor said they were currently on back order. So, I called Ground Force directly for some info. The 2" kit is currently on back order until sometime after the 1st of the year with no definite time for arrival. So, I just popped out my rear springs, cut off a coil, slapped them back in and had a free 2" drop. I will upload some pics later.

I am planning on replacing my rear coils with air bags (Kelderman Air Ride has a setup as does Firestone). My thoughts is that the front is really never going to sag from being used as a 'truck'. The rear, however, will adjust a LOT. Those rear coils are very soft. just my ATV levels the truck out (it's about 600#s I think).

If I lift or lower, I don't ever want to be 'nose up' but I want it to sit level static height. Only true solution there is air.

A full air ride system would be great, but it's expensive. The Airlift 1000 bags are cheap and work great. Just pump the bags up to 35 psi and load away.

Sounds good But will they fit in McGaughy 4" rear drop Springs?

I did a 2/3 drop because I tow too. Depending in the load it would look like a 2/4 drop w trailer. Yes air bags would help w heavy towing.

They fit in my Belltech 4" springs for the short time I was lowered. Just leave out the spacer and install the bags only.
