The Real LA! I cut up through Dothan - Montgomery - Birmingham from time to time when headed to the PNW or other places North and West of where I live. I've been trying to find a better workaround than Dothan and Montgomery but no good routes that I like so far. There's always next trip tho...

I don't think you'll find any better routes. Unless you go to Dothan and take 431 up to phoenix city or Columbus and up through Georgia.
