So it's been 30k miles and I need to replace the plugs in order to keep up my lifetime extended warranty. The truck is a 2009 5.7L Hemi with the Laramie trim. I've already made my peace with it... But before I get started, does anyone care to walk through it with me and give me some pointers? I want to baby this truck and make sure I do it the right way...

Thanks in advance,
-Matt

I believe its the same as the 3rd gen but only difference is the intakes. Check your book for the part number for the plugs and welcome to the forum.

Ok, thanks! I am getting the stock NGK plugs from the dealer (strangely enough it's the only place that has em). I've heard you need a combination of extensions & swivels, and yes, I'm planning on using anti-sieze for sure. Any secrets to get to the back ones? How about the coil pack? Any part of the job a major pain or is it pretty standard 1-2Hr procedure?

i change them out just about every day. its super easy but yes the back ones are a pain in the butt and a swivel extension will help. i can knock out a hemi in probably 20-30 minutes using hand tools. the 4.7 is actually more of a pain than the hemi :****sweak:

its very straight forward though. if youve done them in the past on any vehicle its really no different

hit up Myoung - I know he just bought some plugs, not sure if he's done the job yet though. He's got a 4th gen 1500 as well.
