    I dunno how I missed Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30’s UOA’s (300ppm moly). All of the ones I saw stayed in grade also for shear. On sale on Amazon 15qts $67.99 Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30 It’s what’s going in my truck this time. Still have some rp 20/820’s but once those are gone...

    Yes it’s doable. I removed the heads with stock cast logs attached and reinstalled with afe shorties installed from the bench. Did it for this exact reason (f those bolts) and the afe headers made a nice grab handle while installing. Just remember to wipe them off with alcohol after to avoid...

    or me I’m the exact opppsite I have 700 idle hours, <15% of total, and I had to replace the cam. everything I’ve seen in my mildly educated opinion has pointed to metallurgy not lubrication.

    MDS deleted now slight misfire

    spark plug / coil pack would be my first check. Try moving the cyl 8 coil pack to another cylinder see if miss follows. If not, then try replacing plugs (unless they're new), which of course could then be counterfit plug issue.

    Uncoated AFR shorties in Phoenix AZ here… no noticeable difference. I don’t even break 190° idling in 110° ambient. Honestly I don’t even break 200° unless towing or putting my foot in it. I’m sure my under hood temps are higher but again it’s a truck not a road race car. I may wrap / coat...
