Straight 6 engines have several distinct advantages over v8 or v6 engines. Low rpm torque is one. My old 89 Ford straight 6, 300 manual, could tow amazingly well. I worked it to death, but the engine was never an issue.

Whether you set the ebrake or it is activating every time you put it in park, it will automatically release if you put it in gear… with your seatbelt on…

I know that the whole idea of lifetime transmission fluid seems rather shady, and that zf actually recommends that it is changed at a certain number of miles, but I am also wondering whether transmissions fail in the new 8 speeds?

I would not be afraid of the hurricane. I just bought a 22 hemi so unless I crash it, they will be old engines by the time I’m looking. The RamCharger has my attention now too.
My 2 friends that have bought Wagoneers are in love with the engine. I wouldn’t worry about it. Every engine is an electronic nightmare. Get a good extended warranty and keep up on the maintenance. Enjoy the new truck. I just wish it sounded like a hemi!
I agree. My last ram got oversized heavy tires. It was the old 4.7 in a work truck, st. Between the engine and the transmission, it wrecked what little pep that truck had. I still abused it for 10 years and loved it till the day I traded it in.
