    question about flatbeds

Do you know the manufacturer of the flatbed? If so call and ask them. My initial thought is No as they sell specific models for each truck .

DEF, oil life gauge, and oil filter life gauge not working.

With no load your DEF consumption will be minimal, also the gauge isn't linear so it will stay on full for a long time. Also, oil and fuel filters changes are 15k miles so you have barely used 10% of the life. So in short, nothing is wrong with your truck. .

Lowering rear and getting a better ride.

Lower your tire pressure a little when not hauling, that will help. Other then that welcome to HD trucks, they are made for hauling/towing heavy loads. If you don't really need that capability downsize to a 1/2 ton. Changing the springs is going to lower your payload to that of a 1/2 ton anyway...

Beware of potential scammers. They are out there trolling wanted and for sale ads on all sites.

Scammers have taken over the internet, it's easy money for them because people continue to fall for it no matter how many times you tell them. I manage a couple very popular truck and jeep pages on facebook and ban scammers by the dozens everyday but no matter how hard I try to protect people...

    Gas vs Diesel

I've always (up until brandon) been able to get diesel within a few cents (+/-) of the cheapest (85/87) gas, and certainly Always cheaper then premium. Right now it is slightly more then 85/87 and about the same as mid 89 octane gas (it varies +/- a few cents). .

    Gas vs Diesel

Yeah, not sure what crap hole that guy lives in but up until the current administration diesel has always been the same or cheaper then gas except a few rare occasions. I've lived, traveled and worked all over this country for the past 30+ years. Also there is data to back that up, it's an easy...

    Gas vs Diesel

I know you are a big "gas" guy but that's just a flat out lie. Seriously, statements like that are ignorant and don't do anything for your creditability on here. .,

    Gas vs Diesel

Where the heck are you that diesel is a dollar more a gallon than gas? My local diesel is roughly the same price as mid grade gas right now. I just filled up yesterday for $3.49 a gallon .

    198000 miles engines seized up!

Check and see if you grid heater cable is loose at the manifold... There is no "design flaw" more likely you have something else going on. Is the truck tuned? and modifications? More information on the truck and what happened would be helpful.

    Cruise control/turbo actuator

Cruise control itself has nothing to do with the turbo/actuator, But just about any engine/powertrain code stored in the system will prevent cruise from working. The fact that you replaced a faulty actuator (which cleared the codes) is what fixed your cruise

Give it some time.... This is actually a new house we moved into last summer so it hasn't had time to get oil stained or weeds popping up lol. .

    2025 Toyota 4runner Trailhunter

Here is the 24 5th gen my wife just picked up but I'll be tempted to see what they will give us on a 6th gen. I know a lot of diehard 5th gen owners are hating on the new version and will be paying a premium for the "last of the good gen" as they say. lol. Included the Ram truck in the...

Do you have a trailer brake controller? Just another thought as it was something that came up when doing a google search on this issue. .

    Cummins Killer Bolt.

The stock entrance can handle enough airflow to support ~600HP which is far above what 99.99% of the people are running so there shouldn't be any choking going on. (this was dyno proven but some of the top tuners in the business). .

    Transfer case

I suggest you get under the truck and check it out before jumping to conclusions and going down a rabbit hole. Typically these trucks have a little play in the rear differential so you may want to check that first.

Looking at buying but have a concern.

I would suggest you test drive it and see for yourself, but it doesn't sound good. I'd budget for a trans if you decide to purchase, as well as a complete front end rebuild if it hasn't been done already, it's probably in need of hubs, ball joints, etc being that old.

Talk me out of a TRX!

"Dream" cars are not practical and you will get tired of it sooner then you think and will be so upside down on the purchase you will never get close to recouping your money given the asking price. Once the newness wears off you will regret the purchase. I see a lot of people dumping them after...

After swapping-New 8.4" radio dead? Plz help diagnose

The "too good to be true" price may bite you but I would check the radio fuse for starters, it's in the wiring harness in the engine bay. Passenger side upper firewall.

Help! Can’t decide how to upgrade

I've owned both diesel and gas 2500's (only diesel now) and I would plan on ~13 mpg daily driving, maybe a little better if it's highway with no stops but 13 give or take is a good estimate of real world. I know some will claim higher but you can look at real world hand calculated data on fuelly...
