Welcome back, shocked you didn't have the infamous oil pumper when it consumes 1 qt of oil every 1500 miles also, they were notorious for cam phaser problems, were the cam position sensors really bad?
Do you trust what the steeler did, it's on top of the intake plenum on passenger side, on the throttle body take the snorkel off and look inside they sell a cleaner to clean the throttle plate and areas, as @Wild one posted here it may be a vacuum noise from the bolts being loose on the intake...
They sure did along with trying to steal your trade in, and the fact that their biggest engine was a 2.0 4 banger super coupe way under powered for the size of the car and I believe there was allot of blown molded plastic body panels, my son G/F had one w 1.5 liter that consumed large quantities...
Just to add to this post, the system has to be evacuated by a vacuum pump and the refrigerant has to be weighed and reclaimed and as said it may be contaminated from the compressor, and the accumulator/ dryer needs to be replaced, I would have a reputable A/C shop do the work.
There are 4 cams on the 3.6, Intake, exhaust on each cylinder bank, they must have reused the damaged fowlers or tappets or not replace them to damage the cam shaft, I would be document what parts were replaced post it on here for us to look at.
It can cause a severe load on your transmission, make sure front calipers aren't hanging up and the flex hoses aren't deteriating from within, you should put rebuild calipers and new flex hoses on it, what condition and the E Brake cables in it can cause rear brakes to lock up or any broken...
Drive it and enjoy it, remember this is a forum that mostly report their problems considering the hundreds of thousands that you don't hear about, truth be told Ram has much fewer problems compared to others.

Do you have the ITBC (Intergrated Trailer Brake Controller) from the factory, or did you install it and have it flashed, may be the reason for it not showing up on your EVIC (heads up display) or on your 8.4 radio. @crash68 is right!!!
Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30min or so see if it clears, if there's a check engine light (MIL) you need a scanner to reset it, Autozone has one.
