    I had lifter failure in my 2014 5.7 1500 at around 110K miles. However I would not hesitate to purchase another Ram, especially a 2500 with the 6.4 hemi and the 8spd. No other truck brand compares, IMO, in terms of comfort, utility and general reliability.

    Just my lil ol opinion, I say buy it. 4500 isn't terrible, that seems pretty reasonable for a vehicle you know is in good shape. It would be paid off and frankly it never hurts to have an extra vehicle.

    OP: what oil filter do you use? Several folks here, including myself, have noticed changes in psi with different filters. I use RP 20-820 or Fram XG2 for my '14. Just something inexpensive and easy to try and see if it makes a difference.

    I have a 2014 with 138K miles, had to replace water pump and had lifter failure, but no issues with starter. Def not something I would worry about.
