The part that would frustrate me the most is putting the old worn serpentine belt back on?!? Just ridiculous.
Anywho, I would continue to drive it. The trans has given 400,000+ miles. Drive it til it completely fails and then replace with a refurbished one.
You're living in my head. The buy once, cry once has always worked well for me. I already have a plan for the engine if/when the lifters finally go. I don't have a problem with the required maintenance. Hopefully it will help keep me on the road and not have to bother with using the warranty...

Sounds like a short. Many times it is where the wiring for the sending unit rubs against the frame above the fuel tank. Another possibility is a loose connector on top of the tank.
I've been running PPHM 5w20 since 100k miles. Currently at 165k. Hemi has never leaked and never burned oil.
Not too many other fully synthetic high mileage oils out there??
