    swap my 66RFE for a G56....cost?

O.k I just re-read your post and understand this is going in the Hemi.. Many folks swap out the 68 and use the G56 in the Disel, I think you are the first one I have read to do it in the Hemi... In that situation I will say it should be a vast improvement! We owned a 2016 Hemi 2500 6.4 we bought...

    swap my 66RFE for a G56....cost?

Whats the reason for the swap, reliability? I have an 18 G56 i drove off the showroom floor, and I love it, dont get me wrong, but its really a Slug to get Moving compared to an Auto, especially towing. I know you wont have the detuned motor like the factory g56 comes with, but its really the...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

Yes others have had the same exact results after getting the recall done, while others claim no impact. I would figure your dealer will play hardball, A fellow on the cummins forum had to pay out of pocket for repair after the recall. BTW, that warranty they keep touting as Good reason to get...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

Well based on the eco-diesel fiasco, I think anyone who has skepticism about this recall is justified. Whether it results in unintended consequences remains to be seen. Some have had issues almost immediately afterwards, while others claim no impact. If the Extended warranty pans out, then I...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

I'll add this For folks who are in areas that dont require this recall to renew registration, I was considering doing this recall for the warranty extension only. however After 2 trips to my Dealer, one with a printed copy of the Consent decree with Cummins and the extended warranty info and...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

37" tires are going to be anything but helpful towing 10.5K pounds with the 3:73 rear end. It all depends on where your towing but with that weight, those tires and bad section of road your gonna have a crap shoot between first and second gear. You WILL notice a difference between 10.5 and 9.5K...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

I went to the 3500 SRW and the ride is really not that much different IMHO..it IS noticeable, but not a huge difference.

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

I did exactly what you are proposing, I went from about an 8K RV to somewhere around 10.5-11K and I got say I was miserable in the truck towing anywhere other than flat or relatively flat ground. Going to the Beach it was livable, but going into WV I hated it on the Hills. The thing that made...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHqKJtchU9E&t=336s ^this video kind of explains a little more as to the suspected operation of the recall software. This guy explains it pretty well starting at the 5:30 mark. He bases those assumptions on history with cummins, and makes valid points. It is just...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

Which is why I said it remains to be seen if its across the board, or if it is possibly determined by driving style, weight towed, etc..

How much better is a 2500 for towing?

Depending on the tank Location I have known people to add a lil water to the freshwater tank, this varies by RV, length etc.. however. But its typically a fairly easy procedure!

How much better is a 2500 for towing?

As is mentioned the 2500 is Night and day difference. I went from a f150 to my first 2500 towing about 7500 pounds and it was immediately a more relaxed drive. I liked the tow so much better we upgraded to a larger RV (9500 pounds), then Upgraded to a medium Fifth wheel (11k pounds). It was too...

    FCA emissions recall 67A

Theres a few over at the Cummins Forum now that have had it done and put some miles on their trucks and noticed a pretty drastic decrease in MPG..whether that pans out to be an across the board thing remains to be seen I suppose.

    FCA emissions recall 67A

Im wondering as well.. Im out of warranty now so they cant hold the warranty over my head and my state does not do emissions testing. We shall see... Of course as time goes on and we get more data and shows t doesn't have a negative affect on the truck then I'll let them do it just so its up...
