The springs in the rear are to provide a smoother ride. Though the trade off is more sag when towing. I bought one with the tow package, though won't tow that often. I've read many install inflatable air bags in the rear to mitigate the issue. That's what I plan to do.
Leaf springs are better...
Subscribing. I've had my '23 for a little over a month. Will probably take it into the dealer when it's due for it's first oil change. Only 1400 miles on it so far. From what I've read, good to do them every 5K.
This is what I do. I've gotten into the habit of pressing that button every time I start the truck.
When I test drove it, the salesman even told me I should turn that off every time or it will wear out the starter faster. I'm just not a fan of the auto stop/start. I might turn it back on if I...
I definitely disagree. I had two F150's in the past. My last one was a 2018 and was very bouncy to the point where I didn't mind trading it in for my wife's Expedition. Also got an extended test drive in a '23 F150 XLT. Wife had one as a rental when her Expedition was getting some work done...
The 'manual is better' used to be a good argument when we were limited to 4 - 6 speed auto trans. Now that they are 8 - 10 speed, doesn't seem like it can beat the auto. I talked to a friend that's a Mustang fanatic. He was conflicted when he bought his latest, never having owned an auto...
Just got a '23 Big Horn with the 32" tires on 20" wheels. I was thinking of moving up to a 33". Thought the more I read these threads, makes me want to stay at 32". Especially since I plan to tow with it. Might just do a 32" AT tire and aftermarket wheels.
Looks like you posted in the wrong section if you're running 17" wheels. 18" is the smallest wheel you can fit on a 5th gen, and then not all 18" will work.
I have a Jeep and do a lot of wheeling, so always want the smallest wheel and largest tire I can get. That said, I'm still undecided on...
What truck did you drive? New style meaning the '25 or '24?
I just picked up a new '23 and it is very smooth. I've had two F150's in the past and they are a bit bouncy because of the leaf springs.
Only MFG left with a V8 in a half ton are Ford and Chevy. Chevy it's still the standard engine, 5.3. With Ford, they still make them, but it's slim pickings trying to find one on a lot, most are either the 3.5EB or 2.7EB. Better off custom ordering one if you must.
I also wanted the V8 and...
I don't blame you for not wanting a new truck with new payments. If you're still considering, checkout the 2023 stock in your area. I bought a '23 two weeks ago and they were doing 20% off. There's a decent selection '23 Rebels in my area.
Not sure where you are, but I pulled up the least...
I've found that first year trucks tend to have more problems. So if I'm looking for a used vehicle, I usually leave out the first year or two. Though 34K miles is very low for a 5 year old truck.
I'd pay to have a Ram service dept inspect it, see if they recommend it. I got screwed on an F150...
I don't have remote start on mine. So looks like all I would lose would be the ability to unlock the doors with the app. How much do they charge to keep it active? Just bought mine on Sunday. How long is the trial?
Odd that they make you pay to use the app. The app for my wife's Ford is free.
Definitely annoying to realize your 4X4 doesn't have recovery hooks. My wifes Ford Expedition does have them. I will be using mine to tow my Jeep, so hopefully won't need it. Though you never know.
There have been times where the offroad area gets flooded and everyone gets stuck. So probably...
