Crooks do it all the time. I retired after 30 years LE - I saw it weekly. It's amazing how many people leave their fob in the vehicle.
I will, because there is no simple option. I already stated that I know it can't be disabled in the regular manner. My entire point is that the engineers...
The only part of the hood it would protect is the 2 or 3 inch strip directly behind where it is attached. Most rocks and debris are too heavy to be deflected by the little bit of updraft above it. And any bugs coming in higher than maybe 6-inches above it are not going to be deflected either...
I misunderstood. If you're talking about taking 2 fobs with me every time I go somewhere, to leave one in the cab just so the truck doesn't honk when I get out (if that even works), that's means I'd have to carry two of them around when I don't even want one. And thieves bust in on the hopes...
No, the truck doesn't 'care" whether one or both fobs are in the cab. The person who cares is the thief that busts your window, gets in, then just has to push the button to start the truck and drive away because the gob is already presnt. I leave my extra fob in the cab in case I lock myself...
Hey, I carry an AZ map in my center console. Nothing like a paper map when your nav device thinks you're driving cross-country and insists you "make a U-turn when available". ;)

Mobile 1 is a fine substitute. Actually, any 0W-40 oil with the API donut on the back is acceptable. It does not have to meet the exact MS standards that are recommended in your manual.
They're not good for anything. You can't use them in any coin-operated machine, and carrying them around is a PITA. They're only useful for Tooth Fairy donations.
