I installed a Gruven motor and brass gear on the passenger side outside mirror. Install required a fair amount of finesse and some sailor language but I FINALLY got it done.

The mirror intermittently wouldn't swing close. Now it seems to operate 100%. It's noisier than OEM but faster and will probably outlast the truck.

Performed the drain n' fill on the ZF. 91000 miles on the truck. I used Valvoline MaxLife ATF. Have to get the rear axle nearly 24" off the garage floor to get the ZF close to level.

I performed the 2nd drain n' fill on the ZF today. The ATF I drained was redder than I expected it to be (I used Valvoline Maxlife on the 1st drain n' fill.) So I am thinking the 2nd iteration will make the fluid in there pretty red.

Picked up some lightly used 35x11.50x20 Nitto Terra Grapplers yesterday. I'd say 2 are 60-75% tread and the other 2 are probably 80-90%. I'm hoping they don't absolutely murder my fuel mileage but for $500, it'll be a long time before I break even vs buying a new set of 275/65s.

Added some vertical reinforments

Just enough clearance to install the 5th wheel hitch using the hoist

also put in the tailgate seal kit, not too confident this will last.

Took a drive with the family to IL to pick up a necessary tool for the winter here (pictured), and did a pretrip walk around on the truck, checked air, looked at brakes, all that. Noticed my passenger side AFE shorty did not like the winter at all. Driver side looks great, so I'm not sure what happened other than the passenger probably gets more tire splash since it's more open. These were ceramic Cerakote coated before putting them on, and were underbody carwashed every 2-3 weeks during winter so I'm a little annoyed at the condition.

Did an oil change, cleaned air filter, and found my O2 sensor extension harness fell on the exhaust so I rerouted it before it melted the wires. Luckily it just melted the plastic loom. Think I've reached the point that I'm going to figure out a nice pair of bumpers. I keep seeing a few that I like, but not enough to buy them. Rear bumper is rusting by a parking sensor, front bumper is starting to show its bumps and bruises from age.

Changed the oil the other day and finally installed my SuspensionMaxx swaybar end links.

Then went to change my foglights. I put aftermarket black LED foglight housings in when I bought the truck that are all integrated, not just stock housings with bulbs

IMG_6070.jpeg

Well, those only lasted a month before the pass side started flickering and would eventually quit. So I sent them back for a replacement. Then the replacement set quit working. So I’ve been running around with no foglights for months.

Finally I ordered a new set of smoked, stock housings and LED bulbs. Changed them out, turn them on and the pass side still doesn’t work. WTF. Finally start tracing the harness and found that it somehow got pinched between the crash bar and something up front. Completely cut the wires. I may have done it without realizing when I removed the grille shutters. So some butt connectors and heat shrink, now we’re good to go again. I put the original LED housings back in cuz I like the way they look and their beam pattern/output is much better than the smoked OEs were.

I had new titanium ceramic coated jba shorty headers installed, and while they work well for what they are (shorty's), they look the same as yours.

As you said and I agree, it's likely because the areas are so open to the elements and highly prone to getting soaked when going through puddles and on wet roads.
