I would like to see one that is smooth. The ribs hurt my boney knees when I crawl inside. I have a camper shell and sometimes camp out/sleep in it. So I added a Bed Rug but would rather have something I would not mind spilling oil/gas on when picking up supplies. And grey would be nice. Allows you to see stains easier too. All the rubber mats I have seen except animal stall mats are grooved to match the bed. Just my 2c to add on to the color choice.
Not our product, but Bedrug has an impact mat that sounds like it fits the box for easy on the knees.
When you camp in the truck bed do you use a blow-up mattress or platform? Also - is grey the suggestion for bed mat color because you want to see stains or just know you split something so you can clean it?
Yes grey would make it easier to to see dirty spots. It's also a little cooler in the sun, primarily on the tail gate. I use a fold out mattress that does not cover the entire floor so have to crawl on the mat to get out. I also have a cot I use on occasion so I can store things under it depending on how long I might be camping. The camper shell has a raised top to allow for more head room which is absolutely needed with the cot.
The bed rug has enough thickness to keep the knees happy but a I can still feel the ribs. If I had been able to find a flat rubber mat other than a heavy stall mat I would not have purchased the bed rug. But I must say it is nice with the material sides and tailgate. It always seals the draft in colder weather. I'm using a tarp to carry dirty stuff to the landfill or using my diesel truck for that. The rug would be troublesome to remove and install just for dirty work especially with a shell on the bed.
