I read an article about Stelantis having slow sales this year primarily due to the price of Ram and Jeeps being higher than the competitors. Dealerships were complaining nationwide that pricing is hurting sales. I remember back 2020 when I was shopping for a Ram they were having $8-9K off sales and I grabbed one for less than used 150s were going for. My wife is looking to trade in her Grand Cherokee for a new GC. I've been watching prices and they seem a bit elevated. I can get a Jaguar F-Pace or a Porche Macan for the price of GC Summit. Was wondering if we have any insiders here with news of Jeep/Ram sales coming up. The article hinted that something big might be happening soon.

A Ram/Jeep/Dodge dealer here in Somerset, KY has a lot full of trucks and jeeps of all kinds. I mean this lot was FULL! And the guy there told me they were getting more in. Something might be happening for them to be getting that many vehicles.

If they can get me a low interest rate, I might trade in my 2020 Limited for a new one, but, being they have that new engine, I'll lease it.

I wouldn't expect any news (other than rumors) at this point. They don't want to hurt the meager sales numbers they have now. If news of some big upcoming promotion or sale got out people will just stop buying and wait for that to happen. Sales are definitely slower right now, but can you imagine what would happen to sales if news of some big sale happening at the end of June were to get out right now?

I've been complaining about Ram's pricing for a couple years now. When I bought my first Ram truck in 2015 it was because of how much more truck you could get for less price than with competitors trucks. Now it seems to be the opposite. Ford and GM trucks have upped their games without raising their prices as much as Ram has. There's no way that won't hurt your sales.

well, since they will be made 100% in Mexico, with reduced labor, you'd expect to see that in the price. ha ha ha

Yeah, I was in shock when I got my first Ram in 2020. I had been shopping for a used F150 and was stunned at how expensive they were. I wandered in the Ram dealership to look at used trucks. I told the guy what I was looking to spend and he said, "I think I can get you a new one for that", and he did. They were running a special. It was literally almost $9K off of sticker and less than used 150s were going for (this was Covid and used car prices were insane).

I love Jeeps and have always had either a Wrangler or CG in the family for decades. The new ones are beautiful....but those Jag and Porche SUVs are tempting if Jeep prices don't come down.

I saw an upper level Grand Cherokee something or other at the Dodge place a couple of weeks ago. Had a manufactures sticker price of over $104,000. I had no idea they were in that territory.

Probably the new Grand Wagoneer. Basically a giant, stretched out Grand Cherokee. I guess to compete with the Suburban. They start at $91K. There's a Grand Wagoneer "Series III Obsidian" that starts at $117K. I speck'd one out at over $124K! Just stupid. The most expensive Suburban I could "build" on their website was $95K.

Now that I read your post I think that’s correct - that it was a Grand Wagoneer.

I would expect sales to slow down due to the new I6 turbo. I figure many don't want to gamble on the new engine. Also expect sales to slow even more after people buy up the remaining '24's.

I read the same articles, I suspect we will soon see some very good discounts to help the dealers and the company move inventory. Those numbers you have shown will be back again.
Stay tuned.

I pass by every manufacturer on the way to work. Every dealership is over- flowing with vehicles...I've never seen them as full as they are now. I think it has to do more with the high cost of financing right now as evidenced by the cheaper brands like Hyundai, Kia and Mazda having full lots. Tesla, Porsche, Audi were also barren but now completely full.

I hope so. I'm ready to pull the trigger on this deal.

Man, the Porche Macan and Cayanne are tempting for about the same price as a GC Summit...

My local dealer is a combo Ford/Chrysler/Ram/Jeep dealer. Lot is full with new models of all and lots of good used, some bought at higher prices in auctions a while ago and hard to sell today for a profit. Salesman I have known for several years said nothing is moving except Ford Fleet/Commercial/Govt sales since FOrd is now accepting orders on those programs and delivering on them.

I was thinking about ordering a new Laramie Longhorn and it was about $30,000 more than my 2020 Laramie Longhorn. Plus the high trim models only come with the hopped up Hurricane that takes Premium gas, not something I need or want. Although at the last refresh it took a year or two before they offered the PEntastar in the high trims which is what I bought and serves me very well for my use. I then looked at the price of a Ford King Ranch, similarly equipped, but with the fancy high HP turbo V-6 and the ~7 KVA power your house battery/inverter/hybrid and similarly equipped it was about $7000 less than the new Laramie Longhorn. Can't buy a Ford though or my Dad would rise from his grave to wring my neck, he really gave me a hard time when I bought a Lincoln MarkVIII LSC many years ago. It was a nice car for the price and the era but the interior was very poor quality compared to high trim Rams nowadays.

The wife decided she really wants the GC Summit with tan interior. Unfortunately, there isn't one on the lot anywhere in my area.

2025 Ram 1500s (5th gens) are made in Sterling Heights, MI. Ram 1500 Classics (4th gens) are made at the Mound Road plant in Michigan, and in Mexico.

Grand wagoneer I looked at here month or so ago was $110k area, dunno what trim or anything though....it was in the showroom so it was probably a higher model, gorgeous inside.
All vehicles around here seem to be ridiculously high.

The top of the line CG Summit is a modest $65K. Can't imagine what the GW has that justifies almost doubling the price.

Jeep seems to be trying to rebrand itself as a luxury brand with the GW. Interior materials are all premium. They're much more luxurious feeling inside than any other Jeep vehicle I've sat in. Definitely several steps above a GC, although significantly overpriced IMHO. The cheapest GW model starts at $95k. I'd rather spend a little more and find a leftover TRX if I'm spending that kind of money.

All manufacturers are having slow sales right now. Mainly due to interest rates and still inflated pricing.

Very low mileage used CPO vehicles are out selling new.
