2015 Ram 1500 Tradesman 5.7. I have the typical 'hot air from the A/C after when stopped' problem. I've replaced fan clutches on previous trucks for the same issue, but the difference now is the fan clutch itself. The fan clutch on these trucks are thermal clutches that should not engage until the engine gets hot enough. If that is the case, the fan will not be engaged on initial cold start, and the fan will be fairly easy to spin by hand when the engine is cold and stopped. The specs on these clutches say the fan will spin at 20-30% of shaft speed when disengaged. Is that still enough air flow for the A/C to work correctly when stopped at idle? Or am I looking at a different A/C problem? Thank you for your time.
