Exactly where does that plug in on your 2500? Does not look like it would hook up to you Bus blocks. Is the connection location easier to get at than the Bus Blocks toe Kaodtech hooks up to?
I had to pull the instrument cluster out and the harness plugged directly into what I assume is the security bypass module. I had to unplug two harnesses from it. Kind of a pain in the ass as you have to pop out the radio to get the panels off to the right of the steering wheel.

Thanks, sort of what I figured. Hooking to the Bus Blocks was a bit of a contortionist act but at least I didn't need to take anything apart. Glad I went with the Kaodtech style bypass.

A classic is a 4th gen and unless they moved it from the 2018 into the 2019 model year Classic it’s under the driver side dash footwell next to the OBD port.
Thanks. I was able to add power folding (mirrors) functionality but mirror still doesn’t fold. Any ideas?

Glad you got it done. Unfortunately I have no info on how the power folding mirrors work. Forum member MPGrimm has a small business on this site and knows the upgrade wiring and installation of a lot of stuff for our trucks. Possibly reach out to him and inquire. He’s very knowledgeable and can usually supply you with the required equipment to get it working. His wiring and kits are first rate and reasonably priced.

You need the correct switch, the wiring from the power mirror, switch on the drivers door and motorized mirrors. Just turning on the function doesn't work.

Can someone tell me what this cable does?

The security gateway bypass cable is used to bypass the security gateway module installed in all 2018 and later Ram trucks.

This security gateway prevents access to truck modules such as the Body Control Module (BCM) where options are available to be customized by the user.

Many of the security gateway bypass cables must be connected directly to the Security Gateway Module and then removed before visiting a stealership.

If the SGM is buried behind the radio or instrument cluster like gen 4 trucks, that's a huge PITA.

AFAIK, all gen 5 trucks have this module behind/beside the OBD2 port which isn't too difficult to access.

The big advantage of using the KaodTech Security Gateway bypass cable is that it connects to the Can bus blocks behind/beside the OBD2 port on gen 4 or gen 5 trucks.

Also, when you use a KaodTech cable, you have the option of not modifying the OBD2 port and the stealership can still make of it.

This also allows you to leave the KaodTech cable permanently installed.

I leave mine installed and tucked up under the dash.
