Hello, got a cammed 5.7. Making 500HP at the wheels. Looking to upgrade the spark plugs. Currently have NGK LFR5AGP, these seem to be an stock plug. Only 40k interval. Looking to upgrade to Iridium IX. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

That must be one hell'va a cam to make 500 rwhp,or you were on a very happy dyno. That's roughly 200hp more then a stock truck makes at the tires. Lets see the dyno sheet. I run Denso 3381's gapped at 0.030" on my nitrous'd truck, and change them at no more then 30,000 miles.

2016 Ram 1500 5.7L here, FBO mods with custom tune. Currently running NGK Iridium IX plugs. When is it time to run 1 step colder plugs, or that just for boosted applications? Thanks.

I run EXACTLY what my tuner (FRP) recommended. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sean didn't mention plugs, but it's just a Stage 1 tune. I'll ask him when I send over my logs. Thanks.

Unless you're boosted or running nitrous, the majority of tuners will reconmend staying with the stock plugs . I run Denso 3381's in my nitrous'd toy,as i'm not a huge fan of irridium plugs,i'd rather run a copper style plug,as it's way more efficient at transferring the spark ,then an irridium plug is,but the downside is they should be changed every 30,000 miles, which was no issue for me,as the truck got new plugs every season, and the Denso's were way cheaper then an irridium plug, lol.
What ever you do "Do Not" buy plugs off Amazon or Ebay, the majority of NGK's on both sites are fake knock-off plugs.

My other car is a VW GLI 2.0T, FBO stage 2. Definitely run colder plugs in that one.
