swapped the battery out and still doing the same thing also replaced my terminals i’m thinking the injectors i have are bad there not oem because the truck would start fine if i pour gas into the tb it starts back up and drives normal
i have the battery under warranty! so i’m heading tomorrow to my local autozone and getting it replaced it’s an AGM 65 that’s the size of the third gen rams
02 4.7 ram engine just got rebuilt and truck turns on and runs fine until i turn it off after its been at operating temperature if i let it sit for like 5 minutes and try cranking it it only spins i haven to let it cooldown and it starts back up without any problem i swapped out the fuel pump...
i was thinking fuel pump i have it under warranty so im thinking of swapping it out i replaced it last year in august but truck sat ever since and was only moved less than 100 miles
swapped it and so far it works good now my only problem now is that when it gets warm and i turn off the truck it won’t start back up engine just spins and only way it turns on is if i let it cool down or if i pour some gas or starting fluid onto the throttle body
forgot to mention engine got rebuilt new pistons new rod bearings same oil pump new rings heads resurfaced and all new gaskets all around pick up tube wasn’t clogged neither my mistake was not swapping the oil pump which i think was the bad one i was playing on running 10w-30 or 10w-40 can i get...
when warmed up it drops oil pressure on the gauge and the check gauges light pops up i’m tryna figure out around what psi would the gauge go down and the pop up light comes up i read 4psi is the minimum oil pressure at idle on the 4.7 correct me if im wrong
does anyone know how the 4.7 oil pressure sensor gauge works on the jtec engine 02-03 if i’m not mistaken i had read on another post that the gauge would drop all the way down if pressure went don’t by a little it won’t work like the 5.7 where the gauge comes down a little and shows accurate...
also noticed towards the bottom of the bore is where the piston scoring is deep and you can feel it as it goes towards the top you can’t feel it with your nail at all
valve seats are good i took my heads apart changing stem seals im just concerned about the scoring from what i saw the truck suffered from oil starvation only had the truck for like 2 or 3 months
i’m rebuilding my 4.7 engine it had a a misfire on cylinder 1 and excessive crankcase pressure so i though it would be a piston ring i took it apart and the piston was missing a really small piece under the oil ring and it scratched the cylinder walls i honed the cylinder walls and cylinder 1...
changed the oil drove the truck did a little bit of flooring the pedal and idle good and oil pressure good until i got home i reversed the truck and drops oil pressure in reverse only i tried it in Drive and it had regular oil pressure
i did engine swap on my 3.7 ram to a 4.7 i got the engine for 350 it was running it has 169,000 miles and it has new timing chain, guides, and gaskets. i checked oil last night and i can still see water and chocolate milk at the bottom of dipstick going to replace oil and filter and check
