    The stock mirror twist locks on to that stud and is about a 30 degree twist to lock. Did someone mount an after market mirror, maybe for dash cam or rear cam?

    I've had it off studying the issue, just pops off the 4 posts. Problem is that it's 1/2" down, 3/4" up from the bottom. I've talked myself in to the heated wire idea, with a cup of water handy to quench, so I don't melt through that sort thin strip.

    Mine snapped at 65k. Many see it way before, some not at all. I don't know if it has anything to do with "spirited" driving habits, but I bet Wild one, or others might have opinions. I tend to either be creeping in bumper to bumper traffic, or WOT.

    Fog light

    Sounds like you have water/corrosion in one of the multi pin connectors. If it was the relay, I would expect both fog lights staying on. It could also be a short to ground. If I remember, lights are always powered, with the switch completing the ground circuit.
