    5th gen tire wear

Bob, thanks for the update. Let's see how this wears. I believe that excessive toe-in from the factory has caused many to have excessive outer edge wear on the front tires. I'm going to have mine checked again, at the same alignment shop, just before I put new tires on. I'm anxious to see if...

    5th gen tire wear

Update but not the end of the saga... I went to an ALIGNMENT shop, not a tire store or the Dealership. That's like going to a Podiatrists to have your teeth cleaned. Sure he's a doctor but... Anyhow, I was severely pigeon toed.(see photo) Which could have been partly from removing and...

Do you wear yours around your neck hanging from a lanyard? Or on a big gold rope chain, like me? :hat:

I was not aware that it would shut off if I touch the gas pedal before the start button, I'll have to try this out. I have came out to a cold truck and thought "I know that I remote started it already?" Only to find the "Low Fuel" light illuminated... :emotions122:

Best post this Month! Props for your tenacity. Mine always "Panics" when I lean on anything with the fob in my pocket. O-ring kit at home, I will be trying this helpful hint out tonight. Thanks!

    2020 1500 limited bounces after 2in level

Right, it appears that both items should be used together. You raise the truck with the spacers, then you "fool' the sensors to think that you are still at stock ride height. That way your air-bag/shock remain the same length that they were originally. And just as important, the pressure in the...

    2020 1500 limited bounces after 2in level

I'm interested to know, did they install these spacers as well? https://www.roughcountry.com/product/dodge-front-leveling-lift-kit-35400

    5th gen tire wear

Well... as you can see. While it slowed it down I do not feel that the front end specs have ever been where I want them. This second alignment was just a free check when installing the two new Bridgestone's. You know, one of those "you don't pay if we don't adjust" deals. And for some reason...

    5th gen tire wear

37 PSI cold. I tried higher, but it felt like the tire sidewalls weren't doing their fair share of the dampening. I agree, I am not comfortable with the condition of that Right Front but the other 3 look something like this: Hence the reason Bob and I are in this thread. Originally I did not...

    5th gen tire wear

This was my exact experience at the dealership back in 2020 when I had only 20,000 miles on it and the Bridgestone's were wore smooth on the outside edge (passenger side was worse). His print out clearly showed where it had excessive toe-in on a brand new truck!

    5th gen tire wear

On my next alignment I will be remaining in the driver seat. In part to verify that the truck is in alignment mode. Bob will have to please confirm but I think what Bob was referring to was a the sound of the tire scrub. In the first post he said he could almost feel it in the steering wheel...

    5th gen tire wear

At this point: 30,000 miles old, tire rotation every 5000, tires flipped inside to outside at 15,000 miles. It looks like classic under inflation. But this is NOT the case. If I had not flipped the tires around on the rims, the front outside edge would now be showing cords with 11/32" tread...

    5th gen tire wear

I don't think that this issue is in many 5th Gens, but some. I haven't been able to link it to any specific trim model or year produced. I look at other Rams in parking lots a lot and I haven't found any others that exhibit the same severe "outer edge" wear pattern. Like you stated "No different...

    5th gen tire wear

I actually did just this. Because of regularly rotating the tires all four were well worn on the outside edges. Flipping them around will get many more miles out of this set. The Falkens don't seem to be wearing as fast as the Bridgestone's did but I don't think that it is a tire folding under...

    5th gen tire wear

I tried setting mine at 40 psi cold. But it felt like the tire sidewall wasn't doing it share of the dampening. So backed it back down to 37 psi cold.

    suspension

Understand this: as a leaf spring compresses it flattens out and gets longer. As it gets longer it moves that wheel farther back towards the rear of the truck. Think of your outside rear wheel in a turn. When the inside rear corner lifts, in that same corner, that leaf spring archs down. Making...

Steering wheel “sticking” on long sweeping left turns

Check the caster in the front, increase it towards the positive. But it sounds like a defective steering rack. How does it feel turning full lock to lock while stationary? How about with the tires off of the ground? You need a competent suspension technician to verify if your safe.

They were a huge improvement from the factory Bridgestone's.

Can I put 33 inch tires on a stock 2020 ram 1500 classic?

I'm running 275/60-R20 Falken Rubitrek (33" tall) on a air suspension that goes low and the 33's are no problem. Research the Falken Rubitreks, they are a great looking tire with better ride quality and lower noise levels than most All Terrain tires. Smooth & quiet!

    Looking for new Shocks

Get Bilstein B6 4600 stock replacements. They will ride better, have better control and last way longer than the originals. They are less expensive than the heavier duty 5100 & 6100 series. Those are for guys that have bigger tires, lift kits, go off-roading a lot and tow heavy loads often. If...
