The 2018 8.4 I installed in my 2015 a couple months ago has the same issue, display is off center towards the drivers side and also kicked a little lower than it should be. Doesn’t impact my access to any of the controls but it is annoying to look at.
I just looked up that radio and it's identical to the Linkswell unit as far as the harnesses. On the power harness, labeled 10 in the attached pic, there should be a yellow male RCA labeled Factory Camera or something like that. That is the breakout from the factory wiring for the backup camera...
The Linkswell T-Style that I had installed in my truck had a harness that connected to the factory wiring that provided the RCA connections to connect to the radio. What brand T-Style radio are you using? Sounds like a harness might be missing.
I don't know about the Harman Karden 8.4 units but I can tell you the Pioneer units from 2018 are surpringly clean with no distortion up to max volume. I just verified mine using both an oscilloscope and the Steve Meade Designs distortion detector.
In my opinion, checking the speaker loads at the harness that connects to the radio is the easiest place to access them. The pins for each are below for reference. Should be ~2.7 ohms on the front channels and ~4 ohms on the rears.
The door and dash speakers are in parallel. If he can get to the radio harness and ohm out the speaker outputs he should be seeing 2.7 ohms on the front channels and 4 ohms on the rear.
The head unit itself was a direct plug and play, no special programming needed. You will need to upgrade the USB Media Hub in your armrest because the one in our trucks aren't compatible with the CarPlay units.
I had a Linkswell Gen 4 T-Style in my truck for a couple years, it started acting...
It can be done, USB data ports designed to replace the cigarette lighter port are easily found on Amazon. Routing the cable up to your media hub in the armrest could be a little tricky though.
Might want to check with Benny at All Mopar Parts. He's a preferred vendor here on the site. The link below will take you to his forum.

I hear ya, my ultimate goal down the road will be to add a 6 channel amp to drive the doors and dash speakers but it’s just not in the cards at the moment so I’m trying to make the best of what I have to work with right now.
Thanks for the reply! I’m a very out of practice former electronics technician so I’m pretty much relearning everything I’ve forgotten over the years. You are correct in your assumption, just dealing with 4 channels, (FL, FR, RL, RR). Using the stock 8.4 head unit, no amp at this time.
As my...
So I’m guessing that it’s safe to assume that if I see an 8.4 listed on eBay that supposedly came out of a 2019 Ram but has a part number that starts with 682 that they stuck an older radio into the 2019 bezel unit?
My 2015 Ram 2500 with 8.4 unit is on firmware 18.11.07, checked my VIN and it says the 18.45.01 update is available for my truck. Curious if there is any real benefit to upgrading the firmware of I should just avoid the risk of bricking the radio. I don’t use the navigation if that makes any...
Truck in question is a 2015 RAM 2500 with the stock 6 speaker system and 8.4 radio. I wish an aftermarket head unit was in the cards for me right now but it's not so I'm trying to make the best of what I have at the moment.
So, in stock configuration:
- The dash speakers are 8 ohms and the...
So I'm going to abandon the camera integration for now and just focus on getting the subs up and running. My amp (Apline MRV-M500) does indeed support high power and standard power speaker level inputs so I'm guessing an LOC won't be required. Now I just need to figure out the easiest way to...
