I am going to replace the chain in the np271 as it is stretched. I have a buddy who runs 80W-90 Lucas with Lucas HD oil stabilizer instead of ATF+4. I was wondering are there any benefits / downsides to doing this? I'm contemplating running 80W-90 because this is the 3rd time this chain has... -

Transfer Case Popping out of 2WD High into Neutral
So my 03 3500 cummins 4x4 is popping out of 2WD high and goes into neutral. My question is can I add ATF+4 friction additive to make it not slip? I know I added some to a different truck and it stiffened it up a bit, but I'm wondering if that'll work.- Rhett59
