Did you ever figure this one out? I'm having the same problem. My OBD reader suggested replacing vapor canister purge solenoid or its valve assembly if replacing fuel tank cap doesn't work. -

I went to get a load of chips and dust limestone with my 2006 5.7 1500 and told the guy to fill it up. He said one whole scoop would crush my truck.
