2019+ Uconnect UAM 8.4 on 2013 1500

Hi guys,

I have a 2013 1500 RAM with an 8.4 HARMAN Radio from Factory, and I want to upgrade it to an 8.4 with Android Auto/CarPlay.

I've done my research and I saw the most common way to upgrade it is going to an UAQ type of radio (very expensive), but since I just want it for CarPlay/Android Auto I saw these other types called UAM that doesn't have navigation, cellular signal, etc. but they had CarPlay/Android Auto and came on Jeeps or 2019+ RAMs I think

The thing is, I haven't seen almost any information for these types of radios if they are compatible on 2013 RAMs or if they need any specific type of activation to work. I saw posts on another forum where I guy said screen just staid black, other said backup camera didn't work, other that you have to change Cabin Net configuration on the computer, other ones that just worked without issues but no one provide any further information if it had a faulty radio, if they tried to install a Jeep radio, etc.

You guys known if these radios would work on a 2013 1500? These are considerably cheaper than a UAQ and that upgrade wouldn't break my wallet.

I got AlfaOBD so I can do any modifications needed.

Don't use a UAM. You want a UAS for non NAV.
