I need help figuring out where my problem is. For about three weeks, I’ve been having ABS, traction control, and 4-wheel drive issues. The first thing I did was read the fault codes: C0034-1D Right front speed sensor – circuit current out of range and C0034-2F Right front wheel speed sensor – signal erratic. After that, I replaced the right front speed sensor. Then I also replaced the wheel hub bearing. The fault is still there.

After a long search online and using ChatGPT, I was advised to replace the wiring cable that runs to the control module. Supposedly, if you clear the code and then turn the steering wheel left and right, the fault should come back, which would indicate a wiring issue. However, in my case, I can’t clear the fault code, so this test doesn’t work.

If it is the cable, is it very difficult to replace, or could the problem be somewhere else?

I wouldn't start by replacing the wiring harness to the ABS Module just yet. The first thing to do is get a scan tool connected to this thing and verify that the right front speed sensor is working and sending a signal to the controller. With a proper scan tool you can see the wheel does in MPH and you can also see if the module is losing that signal because the wheel speed with disappear and show zero MPH or something crazy erratic like 92mph.

Some diagnostic work is in order to determine wether this is a controller issue or a wiring issue.

If you have a shop that you use let them do the diag work. If you have a friend with a scan tool you can save yourself some money in the process.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone who has a scan tool, so I’ll need to find a shop that has time and the right equipment. What scanner would you use?

Most auto parts stores have an OBD2 scanner and will scan for free.
O'Reilly, Harbour Freight, etc.

You might ask Fast69Mopar to clarify where to find the live sensor data that he's referencing.
AFAIK, you may have to convey this info to the parts store guy. You might ask the parts store if they will do a ride-along to check the live data.

I am having the same issue 2021 Ram Rebel 80k miles driving down the road and I get an ABS light, traction control and 4wd temporarily unavailable. Then before I could pull the codes it cleared itself. Then it happened again and this time it stayed on for a bit. So I pulled the codes with my Innova code reader 150 from autozone, code was under ABS section. Had front left wheel speed sensor erratic, and tone ring failure. Didn't check the hub, but checked the wiring from the bulkhead to the wheel and it seemed ok. Checked the battery voltage and it was a bit low truck is suppose to have 12.4 volts at battery when off I was at 12 even so I went and replaced the battery under warranty. Put the new battery in the truck no go! Codes still there couldn't clear them with my code reader or the autozone one. I was driving it back after work to check the connector and the codes magically cleared and truck seemed to fix itself. This lasted 3-4 days then I had it in 4wd auto and was driving to work in the rain, and suddenly, the errors appear again. Then stopped for a coffee start it up after a few min codes disappeared. So I have read on other forums that there is a wire bundle that can get chaffed that runs from the ABS module to the wheel sensors, going to check that once the rain stops

UPDATE/FIX: I had the car at the shop, and as suspected, they found a corroded wire. They were able to fix the issue for only $240.
