I installed a power seat from a 2008 Big Horn into my 2007 SLT. The power seat works fine, but I get a B1B8F - Driver Seat Track Position Sensor Circuit Open. I talked to a engineer friend who said that there is a sensor on the manual seat to tell the BCM the position of the seat so the airbag pressure can be adjusted for distance to the driver. The power seat doesn't need the sensor, it automatically lets the BCM know. He said that the BCM may not be changeable/flashable for this particular setting.
I'm not looking for help on the code itself, my question is this: Has anyone done this swap and reflashed their BCM to make the code go away? I want my cake and eat it; a power seat and a working air bag.
Thanks in advance for any help.
