I had something similar happen when I bought my 11, the salesman kept saying they were going to give me $1000 off for military discount, I kept telling him while I am a vet and work for the Army as a civilian I do not have a military ID (I have a DOD ID), well we came to an agreement on price and payment then his manager came out and asked me about the military discount which I told him the whole story, long story short (yaeah too late), they had to eat the $1000.
