The squiddd just got a 2011 4x4 and some one buggered the drain plug the head was stripped but that’s not the problem it just spins in the hole and he can’t get it out. I think we are going to have to drop the pan. Has anyone tried this before and what problems did you have any advice would be helpful.

If it's a 4X4 drop the front diff, then the pans not to bad to pull. 7 bolts hold the diff in,4 are easy to get at,the 3 on the top of the diff are a bit harder to get to,but as long as there's no long tube headers in the way, they aren't all that bad to remove.
