Hello everyone, I'm on the fence here on deciding between the two options. Any advice or knowledge would be great.

My 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 8spd 3.92 gears has 130K miles everything is running great. I also run a 6.4 intake manifold with 5.7 injectors.

I want to do some 5.7 upgrades or maybe a 6.4 truck engine swap . I'm looking for more importantly reliability, drivability with good torque.

Should I put in a FRP Hellfire 2.0 cam kit, FRP tune, and SW longtubes. Or save up for a 6.4 Truck engine swap. Thoughts? Thanks everyone.

Yep, 6.4 all the way. You stand a good chance of lowering torque in your 5.7 with a larger cam selection. You may indeed gain some high rpm horsepower, but you specifically mention "drivability with good torque", so I'd say 6.4

@Wild one knows a couple of guys that did this, swap out the 5.7 for 6.4, maybe he can comment on the swap. I think he said both guys were very happy. I believe they both also used a custom tune, not sure of other parts??

Can't beat the truck 6.4's off idle torque if you want tire spinning torque :Big Laugh: I'd look into a thermostatically controlled oil cooler if you're keeping the 3.92 gears,as the 6.4's run pretty hot oil temps due to the piston oil squirters they have, and you're 3.92 gears won't be helping to keep the oil temps down
