I don’t know if there is any discussion on this, if so point me in that direction. I’m still a newbie to both this forum and my “new to me” 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie.

We’ll be traveling out west sometime soon and though I find the wheels on my truck, sort of blah, I still would like to keep them. While I abhor wheel locks, I feel that I might want to purchase them just for this trip. Call me paranoid, but I’m old school and when I wake up in the morning from a hotel, I don’t want see the truck up on concrete blocks or the entire truck gone.

So the wheels are factory, with chrome inserts. What size are the lugnuts? I do realize that various manufactures have their own sizes, therefore what fits a Ford F-150, will NOT fit the RAM.

Apologies for babbling. Bad habit. Thank you in advance.

They have 5 Lugs Per Wheel
Quantity: 20
Thread Size: 14 mm x 1.5 = almost 9/16 inch
Seat: 60 degree cone seat
Hex Size:
22mm

Then there is the Ram DT, New Body Style, GEN 5 Ram
They have 6 Lugs Per Wheel
Quantity: 24

2019-2022 RAM DS 1500 Dodge OEM Factory Lug Nuts M14x1.5 Fit Stock Wheels.

2019-2022 RAM DT 1500 Dodge OEM Factory Lug Nuts M14x1.5 Fit Stock Wheels
......................................................

Ram has 2 different types of locking lug nut
You put 1 locking lug nut per wheel

Or you can get real locking lug nuts here

Most of the other brands only claim that they lock, easily removed

I am looking at the McGard. I just got a price from the stealership: $136 for four lugs and key!!! I don’t think so. And yes my truck has six lugs. Thanks for info, this is exactly what I was seeking.

Also consider your torque setting. A cheap torque bar always sits in my truck, I think Cummins cheap harbor freight stuff. My SUV's torque setting is like 1/2 of my rams. Obviously you will want same size as socket, so just get 1/2 inch on both.

BTW, in case you didn't know, you will want a 6 wall 1/2 drive- deep socket for that, plus what size nut you end up with. 10 times better then dicking with OEM lug bars.

Just an FYI after watching an episode of Eric O (Southmain Auto), I picked up a set of 1/2 sized lug nut impact sockets for my tool chest. All our vehicles have capped lug nuts and after a couple of winters, the caps swell preventing 22mm sockets from fitting. Sometimes a 7/8's socket is just a bit too big and the half sizes work perfectly.
