motor blew valve

My 2001 dodge ram 1500 blew a valve at 170,000 miles. I found metal pieces in oil pan. I had a rebuilt transmission put in two years ago. Also new timing chain,radiater, fuel pump, water pump. I love this truck. She has gone everywhere and always kept me safe. I am wondering if I should replace the motor with a used one. Or have the motor rebuilt? Any idea on costs? I do have a second vehicle to drive.
