Recirculation

2019 1500 Classic...Whenever I push the recirculation button, the air conditioned comes on, regardless of the temperature settings. Is this normal? Thanks!

Yes, recirc is basically Max Air.

depending on the temperature and humidity of the day the AC will turn itself on automatically even without hitting the recirc button. The AC is used for humidity control in these situations. This even applies for the trucks with manual temperature control, and of course the ones with the dual zone auto-climate control.
The AC is also turned on any time the air direction is selected to come out of the defrost vents. The recirc mode is disabled when defrost is selected.
