I recently purchased a used 2019 Ram Rebel and have had a few odd occurrences with the transmission. Today while driving up to a red light, right as the truck was going about 5mph, the dashboard showed a message "Shift to P then desired gear" and the D letter started flashing. As I was stopped at a red light, I quickly shifted into Park, then back into Drive and the screen went away.

This worries me as this is the second time this has happened since I purchased the truck (3 months ago). I'm going to try and atttach a video. Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I didn't see your post till after i started one about my transmission hanging up in gear,

I took delivery of my New 2020 2500 Laramie Longhorn this past Tuesday, on Friday night as I started off from a stop light the transmission hung up in one of the lower gears, and would not shift. I immediately pull into a parking lot put the truck in park, turn it off.

I restarted the truck, put in dtive and so far it has not happened again. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Hello @RamRebelNate and @Forrest Alley,

We certainly understand why this would be concerning. We would be more than willing to escalate your situation to a specialist who can work alongside you and your dealer while your truck is in service.

Either of you find out what caused this issue? I have a 2019 Ram Laramie 1500 and it started doing the same thing.

In my case, it was me. I was actually hitting the button on the steering wheel and didn’t realized it.
