Is there a way to check battery charge through the dash menus?

Your best bet is a load test, like a carbon pile load tester. A simple volt check may not give you a full picture, you could have good volts but low amps. If you're having a problem and your battery is a few years old, it's probably just best to go ahead and replace it anyways.
