well i just bought a 4th gen 2011 1500. so far very happy with it. long story short they gave me the new truck for the same price as a used one on the lot, so my options were limited.. i got a flame red one, not bad but way to bright imo. takes some getting used to. anyways... i got the 4.7 instead of the 5.7 which i really wanted. whats everyones opinions on it? so far the gas mileage is as bad as the 5.7 with less power... so yeah hopefully i like it in the end. dont get me wrong i love the truck i do and got a smoking deal on it, just not the options i would of chose. so questions are, is the 4.7 really worth it? will i be happy even though i was anticipating the 5.7? (opinions)

also how can i level this thing? torsion twist, coils what? i got lots more, but lets start there lol.

for the 4.7 I can't say. I had the 4.7 in my 2002 durango and my 5.7 in my Ram is way more powerful than that dog LOL I don't know how the new gen 4.7 runs

As for the Level. there's a few places out there that sells spacers that go in the front coils.

You will get the same MPG'S with the 4.7 as the 5.7 just less power and fun .

Many guys like the 4.7 and are happy with it . But keep in mind the more the lift the less the MPS and more strain on the motor .

4.7 will do just fine. Yeah, its no Hemi, but its still a good motor.

Yeah it ain't too bad but nothing like the Hemi that was in the 08. Oh well i got a deal so its okay i guess. As long as it pulls like a v8 ill be happy. If it don't haul than ill be pretty pissed. Thanks for info guys Ill check out leveling asap.

On mine you just buckle your seat belt with the key off. Turn it to on, and when it stops dinging rebuckle it three times stoping in the buckled position. And then it should be off, although the light will still be on.

its your choice. don't bother me. But since I totaled my first car. they saved me from going thru the windshield.

Couldn't you just get the plug that goes to the release and make your own switch and use that instead?

You can stuff 35's with a level on 2nd and 3rd gens. Be silly, IMO, to change it now lol

friend of mine never wore his belt either so he got a spare male buckle with no belt and just stuck it the female side to keep it from dinging. As for the 4.7 I love it. Yeah its not a hemi but its still a good motor.

nope didnt work. thanks tho

Really? Worked for mine. And I believe I got it from someone who drives a 4th gen Here's the actual instructions.

1. Turn the ignition swith to the OFF position and buckle the driver's seat belt.

2. Start the engine and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

If that doesn't work then I don't know.
