MITZONE Rear Bed Step for RAM 1500

I have a hard time getting into the Bed. Actually, I doubt if I could get into the bed without a ladder or this step.

bed-step-002-jpg.jpg

Not sure how long it will last , but for the ridiculously low price, figured why not.
I will say it is heavy, appears to be well made and well thought out. The tread on top of the step matches the tread on my rear bumper perfectly.
Was easy peasy for my Son to install. Took all of about 5 minutes and most of that was pointing out bolts and explaining things to my Son.

bed-step-004-jpg.jpg

Step sits really tight up against the bottom of the truck. hardly noticeable but super easy to use.
Simply put some weight on the side tab and step comes down.

Another gift, from the Great Amazonian God !

ES Engineered by Schildmeier Stake Pocket Covers

Stake Pocket Caps.
you know, those two holes in top of your beds side rail back by the tailgate.
yeah, those things, they're called Stake Pockets.
Folks used them to carry around Wooden Stakes to stab through the hearts of any Vampires they may meet.
Reason we don;t really have to, anymore, they did such a great Job of it, yet another reason to thank a Senior Citizen.

stake-pocket-001-jpg.jpg

Black matches up nicely.

stake-pocket-003-jpg.jpg

Looks like it's gonna fit in the hole tightly.
(Side Note; I didn't pay THIS much attention on my First Date.)

stake-pocket-005-jpg.jpg

It's in, It's IN !
And it was everything I'd hoped it be.

(Kinda like that First Date, actually.)

Wait.
What's that?
Another one on the other side?

Thank You Jesus.
Sisters!

The Mighty Amazonian God also dropped off this Center Console Organizer Tray.
It's going to be much more useful than those Pocket Stake Covers.
A lot handier too. But, for some reason, I'm just not as excited about it as those pocket stake covers.

organizer-001-jpg.jpg

I did put down a thin film of Weather Stripping Adhesive, before placing each rubber panel. Do not want small items to get stuck underneath them.

RMI-25

Added some RMI-25 to the radiator.

Added some RMI-25 to the radiator.

Looked inside, first, and noticed a dark brown gunky looking color.

antifreeze-color-jpg.jpg

Not sure if that's how it's supposed to look but ain't worried about now that I added this RMI-25 stuff.
Started using it on my last truck.

Wife had a 1996 Mini-Van that had this super duper, new & Improved Anti-Freeze stuff that every new car gets nowadays.
Stuff turned into a gunky mess, ended up replacing the radiator and heater core on that car.

Fast Forward to 2006 Mini-Van, even newer and more improved Anti-freeze.
That one just cost me a new radiator.Which looked like a complete mess inside.

Surfing forums, after I bought my 2014 Ram, learned about this stuff and if it does nothing else, it makes me feel better.

LINE-X

Truck did come with a spray-in bed liner. Got that issue taken care of.

tqeFCfU5tA8GXgmWqydfAZPrl1=w950-h386-no?authuser=0.jpg

Also added a Dee Zee Bed Mat for my achy old knees.

D8yhdYwxrje2XuTWPslllsZ3go=w950-h509-no?authuser=0.jpg

Funniest thing. My Son, who is now 24 years old and fit as a fiddle, got all excited when he saw that bed mat. Seems that bed liner stuff plays heck with his knees too.
I thought it was just because I'm Old.

Husky X-Act Contour Floor Mats

With my last truck, I spent a lot of time researching floor mats. I ended up getting Husky X-Act Contours and flat out loved them. I Had to get a set for this truck too.

Probably my favorite about them it the fact they are not as stiff as other brands. they will flex. Makes it real easy to access all the stuff I keep in the rear floor storage compartments.

Grab the mat, fold it over and open the floor storage lid .

Another great thing about these mats is how I do not slide around, when my boots are covered in whatever. They grip much better than my buddy's Weathertec's.

NOTE: my black mats are pretty black, just slightly less dark than my black carpet.
The pics have been highlighted, so everyone can see the mats, better.
Color is not accurate.

Notice how tight they fit up against everything.

Slight Curl, on right side, is due to the Cold Temps here.
I checked it, today, and its already came out.

Drivers Side, rear Seat Floorboard facing forward towards back of drives seat

8plNcxJk722NRPWryPLSsq0x2c=w950-h680-no?authuser=0.jpg

Here is the back seat storage board, folded up flat and tight.
Notice how tight against that board the mat goes?

Ain't it kind of odd that the mat has tons of ribs, everywhere, but right up against the underseat storage baord?
Why have that wide flat spot with no ribs? Seems kind of Odd.

GGju1K95BkxM_CHaQaCz7K-TJk=w750-h924-no?authuser=0.jpg

Here it is with the Underseat Storage board unfolded.
The board actually fits over the floor mat but it has another rib, on the mat, for this occurrence,
so the mat still appears to be tight up against, even though the board is over it.
Now i get why there was that wide flat area in the prior picture.
Husky thought of everything.

Ws26HhMGv-Tk8-iEA8TQmYDFyk=w950-h909-no?authuser=0.jpg

if your sitting on the fence about what floor mats to go with, you cannot go wrong with Husky X-Act Contours.
Been buying these for all my Kids, God Kids, Nieces, Nephews for last few years and they all love them.
Even my Tight *** Sisters broke down and bought a set for their cars.
Husky ought to make a commercial about those two breaking the Dust off their Purses to buy those floor mats.
Tightest Humans in the History of Mankind....and they bought a pair.
That's the single greatest Testament of Value that I can imagine.

Stainless Steel Tube Side Steps Wheel To - Mopar (82215305AB)

This is how the truck looked from the Dealership.

I know what you're thinking, That Thing is gonna make Girls throw their ******* at it.
So did my last truck. That's why the drive train was so important.
Got to be able to plow through all the ******* Women toss in my path.

I had to sell my 2014 because I could not stand to get into it, Hurt too much and that was when I was on Morphine.

Got my new Hips. Got off the Morphine. Tried getting into a friends truck.
Painful but I could handle it.

Waited another year. Went out and tried getting into various trucks.
Ford was too hard still, Chevy was okay., Ram was okay but would not want to get into either, too many times in the day.
Oh, Yeah, Factory Auto-mobility Programs will help pay for running boards!!

Ended up back into a Ram. What a Surprise.
Just kidding, been Mopar Fanboy my entire Life.

Time for Running Boards Research!
This is what I ended up with:

Stainless Steel Tube Side Steps Wheel To - Mopar (82215305AB)

6 Inch Tube with 3, count them, ONE, TOW, THREE, Mounting Brackets!
My 2014 boards only had 2 mounting brackets.

7aaC8UjzO2dzyJUWFWIeCKySbG=w750-h316-no?authuser=0.jpg

Not sure which excites me the most.
The nice wide, tall tread or that super wide mounting Bracket.

ZJcAWB_zsXbmysjhrFHa8mg6Ud=w750-h563-no?authuser=0.jpg

Best thing about these steps?
Gonna be getting $400 check back from Chrysler through their FCA Automobility Program.
This Program will reimburses the cost of making your truck compliant with your disability. Up to set amounts, for specified Equipment.
Often, the dealership will do the work and just has the check sent to them and you pay the balance after the Factory Automobility rebate has been applied.

I had already took delivery, so had to pay for the equipment myself and get reimbursed.

All that is needed is medical documentation stating that a person , who will regularly be using your truck, needs the alteration to the truck, for their medical condition.
Does not need to be the registered Owner of the truck.

Husky Liners Mud Guards | Front and Rear Mud Guards - Black | 58146

Figured since I had the tires off, may as well put on my new Husky Rear Mud Flaps.

What's that?
Dave, you got Husky Floor Mats, Husky Inner Fender Wells, and now, Husky Splash Guards?

To quite the great Comic, Tim Allen, "Damn Right, Husky!"
Seriously, they make a great product.
Kind of like God did, with Mammoth Mammeries.... and, almost as much fun.

61KgbwPH3tL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Shot of the rear, facing backwards.

If you look at left upper corner of that flap, You will notice a tiny Hole-like indentation.
Behind that is a piece of 3m Tape. When pressed tightly, during installation, it did a hold quite well.
But I decided to use a 1/8th drill bit, drill through that hoel like guide and install a scre and clip that came with the mudflaps.

mud flap 098.jpg

You can see the screw here.

mud flap 097.jpg

Side shot.
yeah, I know. I forgot to put the 3m Rub tape so the paint don't get rubbed off.
very top of the mud flap, above factory Splat.
Put it on, this morning, but think its too small so gonna buy some and cut to fit.

mud flap 09801.jpg

Starting from bottom, upwards.
Mud Flap
Factory Splat
(that's what they call those things on your truck by the wheel wells, Honest)

Factory inner fender panel
Husky Inner Fender Well.

Mud Flap 099.jpg

When installing the husky inner fender well, you leave those 2 factory inner fender panels, in place.
Put the Husky's in front of them and tighten everything down.

Thought it was overkill but did as instructions staed. Could be because the inner fender wells are not insanely thick and the factory panels gives them extra rigidity.

SIDE NOTE:
I've always went with OEM Heavy Duty Rubber Mud Flaps on all my trucks.
Despite my Love Affair with Mammeries. er, All things Husky.

I would have gladly gone with the Heavy Duty OEM Mud Flaps again but...they are back ordered.
Fronts can be bought but rears are not even listed on any of the OEM parts sites.
Dealer Parts Mgr said they've had 43 of them, on back order, for 8 months now.
This is probably the biggest Dodge dealer in my State.

8 months and still no product?

"H U S K Y ?????"
And the Mighty Amazonian God heard my Pleas and delivered, once again.

Note to Self:
Pick up 3m Body Tape
Do Front Mud Flaps.
Put Credit Card on bag of ice

Maybe 2

Okay, cooler full of Ice.

As I was typing up the prior post, my doorbell rang.
Now, who in the World, would be ringing my doorbell at 08:00 hrs?

You know you got Election Fatigue when you hope it;s just another Jehovah Witness or Mormon Missionary doing his 2 years of whatever the heck they call it.

A Box?
Did the Amazonian God give me yet another gift?
I don;t know what is better. Getting stuff you really wanted

If you did win TOTM back in 17 or 18 it would be in the past winner section. MADDOG left all of the previous winner threads up and we just started a new section when I took over about two years ago-ish. I will take a look when I get some time today and see if I can find anything, will let you guys know.

got time to install those LED Bulbs .
Holy Moly, Batman! What a Difference they made.

Enough that I had to look them up.

Dome Light Bulb is a 578 - 150 Lumens
Led Replacement bulb is 44mm Festoon - 440 Lumens

yep, you read that right. 150 vs 440 dome Light.
AND, the light itself is a brighter color palette and more normal appearing to the human high, which makes it seem ever brighter.

Now, this is important. These light fixtures are pretty darn cheaply made. the Bulbs are kinda loose inside the clips that hold them. on this bulb, in particular, it is very important to pay attention to LED Bulb placement. you can aim it forward, backward or straight down.

Dome Light 000.jpg

that yellow part ids the actual light emitting bulb and it is only a small sliver of the circle that makes up the bulb.
SO, Aiming it down, gets plenty of light everywhere.

Remember i said these light fixtures are cheaply made?
For the dome light, get a small screwdriver, standard or flat edge.
Large eye glass screw driver works great.

Place it against the lens itself, on pssgr side of vehicle.
That is where the catch is located.
It only takes a a bit of pressure of to push the catch
back enough so the lens will drop down.

Do not worry, it should not fall out, as there is a hinge on the other side of the lens.

Dome Light 00.jpg

Here is the catch that you move backwards by pressing against teh lens with your tiny screwdriver.

dome light 03.jpg

Here is what 440 lumens looks like in the daylight.

dome light 04.jpg

Notice those two orange looking spots towards the windshield?
That's my Map Lights. They are on and really look poor next to this new LED Dome Light.

Regarding those Map lights.

The Map light Bulb is a 194/T10 - 25 Lumens
Replacement LED is a 194LED - 800 Lumens

Again, an Insane amount of light. Which, if you really think about it, when you turn on a light switch, you need light, why not get the most like you can?

Changing out those two bulbs is slightly more involved than the come light, I will link to a terrific instructional video on how to do it.
I do want to share how the Map Light Assembly comes out. it reaally is a snap. ( no Pun intended)

map light 000.jpg

First thing you do is open the sun glass holder at very front of the assembly."
(I did not know that holder was even there until I watched the video)
Now grab an 8mm nut driver and remove those two screws.
Probably going to do it by Braille so feel around.

Once you get the screws out of there, then pull one clip towards the windshield to release it.
Now go pull the other clip towards the windshield to release it.
Again, by Braille, and it is so easy to do so do not Hulk Out here.

Your assembly will be held in place by the push clips on the back. They simply push straight in or pull straight out.
Gently pull straight down, with steady, even pressure.

Once you get the assembly out, there are two wiring connections that need to be released.

Once released, the entire assembly can now be placed on your work bench or table.

At this point, get a set of plastic gloves. Once you remove the lens cover, over teh bulbs, there is a chrome cone surronding the bulb that will just fall out. If you touch any part of the chrome, with your fingers, you are toast. The finger prints cannot be removed and the oils, from your finger, will cause the chrome to lift and fall away from the cone.

So get some darn cheap gloves and make your life easy.

Here is the video that shows how to do all this stuff.

Got Depressed watching my beloved Hawkeyes getting Spanked so went out for a drive and took a few pictures.

truck-0094-jpg.504973

truck-plane-003-jpg.504974

Haven't even looked up how badly Ohio State abused the Hawks yet.
Don't want to ruin my Mood.

Monday, the Truck is going to get worked on by American Truck Toppers.
Outfit sells practically everything and they do exquisite Work.
Been using them for decades.
Mostly to get parts, pre-internet, and I would put them on.
Now, the Boy does installation, for me, or got pay them to do it.

My Son really likes doing it and learning how everything is done but
1) He Works full Time,
2) He works late often,
3) I really want this stuff DONE.

Getting the AVS #AVS322163 Aeroskin shield.

Tuxedo Sentry CT Tonneau Cover, #1586916 - I really wanted another topper or fiberglass tonneau cover but my Son talked me into this thing. Hope I don't hate it. Every truck I've ever had has had a topper on it.

Was leaning towards the Undercover Elite LX, Was leaning towards the Undercover, LX, Elite# UDC-U#!!*L_KXJ and having some Dark Grey Rally Strips put on the Hood , Roof, Cover and Tailgate. Think that would look really nice. Cover one weighs 50 lbs, can be removed in minutes and hooked up on the garage wall , out of the way. But my Son really wants me to get this roll up thing so....

Also getting:
AVS #AVS994064 Low Profile Vent Visors

Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen, #UV11588SV
WIll Take pictures and post them up,once I get her Home.

raining all day, today, so the pictures are not very good pictures.

Got my AVS Aeroskin Bug Shield, #AVS322163, installed today. Mostly, it's for helping to keep down rock chips on leading edge of hood.

bugshield000.jpg

This version sits flush with the hood. Nothing goes under the hood.

TThere are two rows of 3m Double sided tape underneath the Aeroskin.
Align the shield with the hood and press down firmly.
Truly a form fitting bug shield, which I wanted.

bugshield001.jpg

Looks really sharp, on the truck. Will try to get outside pictures when it turns Sunny.

AVS Original Vent Visor, #AVS94806. Have had these are every truck I've owned, last few decades. Flat out find the handy.

ventvisors000.jpg

Though about getting the low profile. I like how the low profile version "met" in the B pillar instead of being gapped, like these but, in the end, went with what I know.

I hope I do not regret this decision. have always had toppers but my Son talked me into this Truxedo Sentry CT, TRX-1586916, Tonneau Cover.

Noticed the front of the cover, up against the cab has a good Rise to it.

Here is a tighter shot of that Rise.

Weather sealing is pretty darn good and that's what gives it the RIse.

Rear does not have as much of a Rise.

It too is pretty well sealed up with weather stripping.

Some water did get into the bed but not much.

About what would have leaked into a Topper.
Got to admit, I do like the looks of it.

Not having to crawl all the way into the bed to fetch something way, way back will be nice too.
Just roll up the Cover and reach over the side of the bed to grab it.

Of course, while the truck was in, getting its Cover. I had them seal the tailgate too.

Bed lights and a Bed Rug are next.
Figure sometime next week.

Never had a bed rug but really liked the display model they had and thought, "Why not?"

Luyed 7440 LED Reverse Bulbs

OEM 912 Incadecent bulbs produce 264 Lumens
Luyed 7440 LED bubs produce 1550 Lumens

Intellectually, I know that is a lot more light.
So, I put them in, held the brake and put it in reverse.
HOLY CRAP!!

Once again, I been taught there is a huge difference between Knowing something and actually seeing it.

Thank you Amazonian God!!!!

My Son actually came over and put them in.
He saw how bright they were and first thing out of his mouth,
"Wow, those are going to be great, backing the boat in pre-dawn waters."

Hmm,
I NEED VLED's LICENSE PLATE BRACKET LED!!!

Got around to having my BedRug installed.
This is how it actually looks to the human eye.

Also had them install a couple of 30inch LED light strips, connected to an On-Off Switch.
Camera makes the front appear much darker than it actually looks to me.

bedrug004.jpg

NOTE: Cameras can only see 5 Steps of Light, Humans can see 12.

Pretty happy with the Install.
Everything looks snug & Tight.
The Rug still has to lay down a bit but that's just from packaging.
Can see the fold lines still but those will come out, over time.

Closing the tailgate takes some "Oomph", because of the bedrug and the tailgate seal.

Also had them install some Putco Door Sill Guards.
Not my Truck but this is how they look.
My Picture turned out horrible.

On my last 2 trucks, right in the middle of the tapes location, my paint would rub off, down to the gray Primer.
Not sure why but same spot, 2 different Generations of truck. Was not goign to risk it, on a Black truck.
Looked bad enough on shiny Red ones.
