The ship has landed. It got a big ass rock chip on the windshield on the way home so they are replacing the windshield. I noticed it’s not the factory one anyways so I’m having my glass guy order the oem one. Small chip on the end of the hood so I’ll get that filled and have clear film installed. The resonator delete actually sounds good. One dent in the rear bumper so I’ll see if my ocd lets that sit for a bit. Looks brand new inside.

What's the performance like on one of these, 0 to 60, compared to a ram 1500 with 5.7? I get that's not what they're meant for, but still would like to know.

Well it's a hell of a lot better than the 5.0 F150 off the line. I can't really remember. I haven't had the 5.7 in a truck in a while. These trucks are heavy. I'm sure the 5.7 1500 is better 0-60.

I have a 5.7 half ton with the 8 speed and a 6.4 pw with the 6 speed. Ive never raced them against each other, but the half ton seems way more peppy, quick and agile. Most likely due to the trans gearing and the weight reduction i would think. And number wise, the 6.4 really dosnt have much more power.

That makes sense, I think also maybe some of that could be due to the 8 gears vs 6. I know when I was test driving the ram 8 speed and owned a Jeep GC with a 5 speed, the ram felt really quick in normal acceleration (which it kinda is) but turns out after timing it against the cars in front of me that it was mainly the "busy" 8 speed rowing through the gears which gave that perception of speed; both cases it was normal country traffic accelerating in front of me but my jeep felt slower than the truck just because it took longer to reach second and third etc. Our minds can do funny things sometimes.

Agreed the 6.4 doesn't have much more peak power, but it might make more torque lower down in the curve, tuned more for towing vs top end horsepower.

Got the chance to take a peak underneath today. Couple areas of a little concern. There is/was an axel seal leak drivers side rear. Pulled the plug and the oil is all the way to the top. The leak was not currently wet and was covered with grime so I'm kind of hoping it stopped. If it did, I'll drop the fluid and refill to proper level. Clean the magnet while I'm in there. There appears to be some wetness where the transmission bolts to the motor. I wiped everything down and I'll keep an eye on it. The winch was also damp and greasy on the drivers side. I cleaned all that up as well and tightended the allen bolts a bit on that side of the winch. Maybe that was all it took. Other than that stuff everything appears to be in order. I bought an extended warranty so I don't care anyways.

I will be installing bags with daystar cradles. It seems as though either the top plates where the bump stop would hit are canted backwards a bit or the whole axle is. At least compared to my last two. Maybe it's just me being picky.....anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Well I couldn't leave well enough alone. Got my money back for the warranty I had on the Ford. Spent a little on some Thuren goodies. 1/5 inch Thuren suspension upgrade coming. I ordered rear fox shocks in addition. I'm also getting rid of the stupid welded drag link and going with the upgraded OEM one. That should about wrap it up until I can't look at the stock wheels anymore. I plan to run them till these tires wear out and upgrade to 18's someday. In September I'll do some rust prevention.

Most of the parts should be here Tuesday so hopefully I'll get it wrapped up next week or the week after.

You got to get after that welded drag link, nice job she's a keeper!!
That's going to happen on Friday. It needs an alignment anyways so instead of messing with the drag link I thought I'd have the shop do it. Shouldn't take much and they'll have to adjust the steering anyways.
