New member first Ram backup camera question

Hey guys. I'm Tyler. I've got a 2016 Ram tradesman with the basic 3.0 radio. Is there a backup camera that y'all recommend with this radio? I want one for hooking trailers but don't want to upgrade the radio to get it.

There is one on amazon for $200 by zeroxclub which is actually for RVs. You wire it into a 12v power source or can buy a 4/7 plug adapter separately to power it. It comes with a 7” monitor. If you wire it into your reverse light it’ll only come on when you’re backing up, like a stock back up camera. Or, wire it to a running light and you can click the monitor on or off when ever you want to see behind you.

You can install the stock backup camera and just replace the rear view mirror to one with a monitor built in. But that is such a small screen and when trying to line up the hitch it is almost not feasible.

The OP has the Uconnect 3.0. It does not have an LCD monitor like the 5.0 or 8.4. He did not want to upgrade his radio.

Yeah to upgrade the radio is $400 on top of the camera cost. I can get in and out of the truck a lot to line up the ball for $400. Thanks again

There are some good deals out there. I got my RA2 and mopar camera kit as a combo on eBay for $200. You can find one at a junk yard for $100.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but we can use the jeep ones also can't we. If so here are some options.

I think the radio is different. Mine has the preset buttons on the radio. Don't know if it's a 3.0 to 5.0 difference or a Ram vs Jeep difference
